Hello everyone

Welcome to my channel. In today's review, I share some of my thoughts on The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb. After reading Skin in the Game, I went out (well, didn't actually "go out" because we were in lockdown) and bought his entire collection. You'll see the reviews of his books here.

In all honesty, I do wonder why I even bother to review them because they're so deep and my reviews barely skim the surface nor have I discussed, debated, deliberated or reflected on these concepts in depth so whatever I say, comes across as triviality.

That aside, I still believe that we can learn a lot from every book and I have from all his books read so far.

So here's my review. Thank you for listening and watching once again.

Great review .. I think antifragile is the best one in the series in terms of actually having solutions to the ever present quality of uncertainty .. it cause me to change my name from phoenix to hydra .. you will know why when you review it, so please don't forget to do so.

A direct quote from Nassim: "The Black Swan were treated by the industry like Yevgenia Krasnova’s Story of Recursion (which few realize was about The Black Swan recursively talking about itself and its own future)". .. what a surprise!.

Thanks for your upload.
I just bought the book. I’ve nearly finished Fooled by Randomness and I like that he’s almost a modern day Montaigne, I’m lucky enough that I’m familiar with this philosopher so all’s good. The bad reviews I have read, to me, make it clear that people don’t understand enough and are quick to judge.
Thank you for your review, I agree on that you have said. 👍🏻

Thank you. I really enjoyed your talk about the book and now I definitely want to read it. It sounds very interesting indeed. When you spoke about the networking, how the author suggests expanding those network to stave off the worst repercussions of our own ignorance, it reminded me a lot of what Dr. Jordan B. Peterson talks about, how we are all hopelessly ignorant to reality to varying degrees and first and foremost we must admit the possibility of our own blindness. Sounds like my kind of book. So much of our culture now is so shallow, that deep philosophers are not easy to come by. Look forward to checking out some of your other reviews. I too review books on my channel if you want to check it out. I'm doing a mini series in Youtube shorts of Dr. Peterson's new book, one minute summaries for each of the chapters which will culminate in a longer video. All the best!
