Book Review: Rachel Harrison's Black Sheep | Violet Prynne

Today I want to share with you my thoughts on Rachel Harrison's latest novel, Black Sheep!

I tried to make this video as spoiler free as possible. These opinions are all my own, but feel free to discuss your own thoughts on this novel in the comments below!

I absolutely understand what you mean about her voice as an author, her work is so enjoyable! I just fly through her books, I love the snark and sarkasm of her very flawed characters.
Black Sheep was a 3-star read for me. In a good way, if that makes sense. It just wasn't my type of story. I guessed the nature of the cult very early on, and also what was going on with Vesper's father. And for her to come to that realization was fine, but I think I would have liked to see her learn this very early on too, and then navigate her way in the world with that knowledge.
But I had a good time with the book, Harrison is an instant buy for me too. So far, Cackle is the one to beat for me. :)

I've been waiting for your review on this!! I loved this book so much, and I agree, it was much more enjoyable to be in Vesper's head than Annie's in Cackle. Also agree with you about TST, I greatly respect what they do! If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend Speak of the Devil. I didn't know much about TST before reading it and thought it was very interesting! I believe Rachel Harrison's next book is supposed to delve into vampires with commentary about women aging in society (if I recall correctly). I can't wait!!

I listened to this book during work. It was okay it was under horror idk it wasn’t what I was expecting but it helped the time pass. 3/5
