I love this! I have been thinking about this, too, and I was similarly having a difficult time thinking of a genre because I read widely like you do. But you articulated so well the great things about adult fiction and I definitely agree!

I loved this! I tend to go back and forth between adult fiction and YA. I was thinking "yes!!!!" when you mentioned books told from multiple points of view that come together at the end and make you want to start over so you can see the trail. I'm looking forward to reading Everything is Illuminated. That's been on my shelf for too long. I loved Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. It's one of my all-time favorites. Again, great video!!!!

So many things you say about adult fiction hold true for my favourite genre: fantasy. I never get bored because there are a myriad of different takes on a similar thing or so many different worlds to read about. Fantasy is an umbrella term for so many sub-genres and I for one cannot get enough. : D

Great video! Ah, you showed The Sense of an Ending... My mom is borrowing my copy and I miss it dearly.

great video!
i've been loving adult fiction more and more lately! when i first discoverd booktube i also first discoverd ya so i've been reading a lot of that (though never only ya) and while i still think there are some really good ya books out there, they don't offer me everything i would want in books and i've noticed that they kind of start to irritate me some times.. they get all hyped up and i get excited for them, but they're also often books that i wouldn't have been that intersted in had i found them in the bookstore or anywhere else.. (not too say that i't's a bad thing to read something you wouldn't usually, but in this case it kind of is..)

What a wonderful video! I loved everything about it: the words, the editing, the way you showed us the books and kept speaking.
I feel like saying "Adult fiction" is like saying one fourth (at least) of all the books that were ever written, so yes that is my favorite genre as well :)

Great to see Barnes here. Have to check Graham Swift, have read only one of his works and in translation, ages ago. Adult fiction is also my favourite, only lately I've started opening to other genres.

I'm trying to branch out and embrace more genres, but I always feel most at home with science fiction & fantasy.

Great video!  Interesting, looking at my bookshelves I could not say what genre I prefer the most :-)

My favorite genre is adult fiction as well. I don't read it that often at the moment, but most of my favorite books are adult fiction. I really enjoy fantasy too, but after reading those I need to read something else, just like you said.

I absolutely love character based books, beautiful writing & a plot I can identify with or when I can learn something about other people's lifes and cultures. I dislike most of the action driven plots in other genres, so adult fiction is kind of my quiet happy place :D

Not sure I could say Adult Fiction is a genre so much as it is a class of books filled with virtually ANY other genre. But I agree though, I like adult fiction for the sheer amount of variety it contains.

I think my fave genre is also Adult Fiction because it encompasses so many things. I deviate from adult fiction sometimes but always come crawling back lol

I couldn't have said it better myself. I lean more towards Adult Fiction for just about the same reasons. One can relate to the themes better and it is typically much more realistic.

The Gargoyle does have everything! When will Andrew Davidson publish another book!?

I'm getting more interested in adult fiction now than I ever was. Maybe it's because I'm growing up? I don't know :') I've got The Gargoyle on my shelf to read which I picked up on your recommendation; can't wait to get to it :)

I think I'm a pretty eclectic reader as well, although not on par with you. Overall my favorite genre is dystopian because I love all of the different worlds and societies that are created that make for such interesting reading. To imagine what it would be like to be living in such a world...probably extremely frightening!

What a great video with such diversity of books! I'm currently reading 'Jitterbug Perfume' by Tom Robbins and i have a feeling that it would be something you would really like, if you haven't read it already of course! :)
