True story. Mid 80s. I'm playing bass in a bar band. Supertramp is in Cleveland for a concert. About midnight people start requesting Supertramp songs, which we don't do. I look over at the bar and see John Helliwell sitting at the bar. I say; hey, I think that guy knows some Supertramp. Ask him up on stage. Turns out the whole band was there. They all come up! Owner locks the doors. We're doing shots and hanging/jamming with the band. We're there till like 5AM. A memory I'll never forget. Thank you, Jamel for the reaction. Stay safe. Peace out.

We didn't realise how good we had it. Bands that were musicians.

This song was incredibly comforting to me as a 14 year old misfit. Now that I'm a fifty something year old misfit, it's very comforting to see you enjoying it too. :)

I truly believe this song is so completely relevant at this point in history.

My mom heard the music and said “Where is that coming from??”
I showed her my phone and now I’ve got her watching along with me!

Nothing sounds better than real musicians playing their instruments well.

"I say, now watch what you say, or they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh, fanatical, criminal.
Oh won't you sign up your name? We'd like to feel you're acceptable, oh presentable, a vegetable."
Some of my favourite lyrics in the history of pop and *still* IMO, as relevant today, as they were, when written.

No bullshit, I sincerely enjoy your spirit. I am noticeably more relaxed and focused after spending a couple of songs with you, I thank you for your decency and kindness, Your not going unnoticed...we're listening and fortunate. A better world for all.

When songs actually had deep meanings . . . it was a great time to grow up.

Breakfast in America is one of the most underappreciated albums of all time. Hodgson is a genius.

"Goodbye Stranger" "Give a Little Bit" or "Take the Long Way Home"

Something worth mentioning on this song is that it is a “Pop” song. Very hard to find a pop song with a quality chord progression and arrangement like that today.

Roger Hodgeson. He wrote most of their well known songs. The man is gifted. Has a great library of solo work too.

Supertramp makes me think of my aunt's husband so much. He was a huge Supertramp fan that unfortunately died of cancer. I was always trying to get him in to Phish but I get his love if this band. RIP Peter.
