My daughter pick up some rocks on a beach and decided to make jewelry, gotta love YouTube so I type in your title and your video came up. And I’ll be Damned, this craftsman you have we have in our pole barn that my father in-law had that we inherited all his stuff. He passed away right before she was born 17 yrs. ago!. I can’t believe it’s same. one

Thank you Jerry for showing how it is really done!! Water lots of water, slow and steady! Gets the job done!! No matter how hard the stone is.

Thanks for the informative video Jerry! I gave it a whirl on a piece of fluorite, I succeeded at drilling the hole, but I notice almost a "fracture"all around the hole. My crystal didn't crack, but I bet if it fell on tile it would. Any thoughts on what that would be from? Maybe I just rushed it? Or are there certain crystals that you should approach in certain ways? Thanks for the tips!

wow that's awesome your old craftsman still works great! I am 26 and my dad is 80 years old and he still has most of his first tools he bought when in his 20's and they still work like new! which would have been in the 50's so that just tells you back in the day everything was made with quality! god I wish thing would have stayed the same, and i hear the old ( " back in the good old days" ) line everyday! lol But it is true! I bought a plain old screw driver set for myself and less than two months later all of them have rust and two of them have broken, handle of one came off, the other snapped in half in the middle of the shaft! piece of sh**! Thanks for the video! Now I can do this myself and use my dads old drill driver!

Anybody else think 'break on through to the other side' should have been playing?

This was a great help, thank you! I do not know what all the pieces in my Drexel kit are for and think it would be great to learn more about the different uses.

Good morning Sir....I'm pulling my hair out : ) I have been trying to drill 1/8" hole about 1/4" into river rock for crafting purposes. Your video is great and I just need to remember not to rush it, having minimal success. Any suggestions on a bit type/brand that river make the drilling in river rock, not easier but where I have more success. The river rock I'm using is the type you'd use around your yard. Your advice would be much appreciated.

How much did that drill run you. And will masonry bits work?

How do you shape and polish the rocks if they have a jagged edge or something? I was thinking about making necklaces with polished rocks, but the rock shop in my town has jagged stones. witch would be uncomfortable to the wearer if the necklace.
