Victorian data monitoring agency feels like ‘Big Brother’: David Davis

Victorian Shadow Treasurer David Davis says the creation of a new Victorian monitoring agency is “very nasty and intrusive”.

The Sunday Herald Sun obtained documents released under Freedom of Information which reveal the creation of Insights Victoria – an agency that monitors Victorians and reports directly into Premier Daniel Andrews’ private office.

Mr Davis said he thinks it is “intrusive” and has “all the feel of Big Brother”.

“They can go down to street level with this, they can see social media by street level, credit card movements, all sorts of things … it’s extraordinary,” Mr Davis told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

He needs to be monitored. Seriously.
He’s continually going to far over and over. It’s very intrusive, total breach of privacy and underhanded tyrannical behaviour.

Government agencies have had this set up for years. They can access any data about you including social media. This is already done at a federal level.

Where was HE when Victorians privacy was violated then? Don't get me wrong as I am NOT defending Daniel Andrews, far from it in fact. He IS the lowest of them all.
