Packing 4 bedroom house into 8x8x16 PODS Container

Packing our 4 bedroom house inside one 8x8x16 PODS Container! Overall we fit 95% of our belongings and it took 2 days to pack. In the end the container was completely full with no room to spare. We moved across country from Washington DC to California and everything made it without being damaged! The weight of our furniture was just under 10,000 pounds and the container held up without any issues. Had a great experience with PODS and would do it again if we had to.

I am very impressed you manage to do that! We had a three bed two bath house, and the largest POD did not fit everything. We also felt a little misled. Pod mentioned it would fit a three bed two bath, but we didn’t see until later the fine print said 1200 ft.²… We had a 1500+ square-foot house. And we ended up having to take a U-Haul as well.
My only guess is you guys must be really good at Tetris, maybe even play it as a sport😂😂😂

What kind of straps did you use inside the container? Looks like you went from side to side?

Have moved in past using uhaul trucks etc. even if a pod hold so much, then to make sure u got space any after all is in gotta declutter or purge any to make sure u only take what u need and real want or just packing all real needs or want with any trash or stuff that can donate and be wasting space anytime. but cool u shows how much can fit in a pod even if u may have had sell anything for space or donate any.

You did a fab job of packing! What was the reason for your good experience with PODS? Did you have your whole schedule booked ahead of time and what was it like?How many days did it take for the container to arrive? Did you use the whole month from start to end?
