A moving tip: Put a set of bedding for each bed together & set up the beds first when you arrive at the new house. That night when you are too exhausted you can fall straight into bed as they were the first thing set up.

One tip I’ve heard is if your using a removal company don’t write the contents of a box on it. Write a number an the box and then write a list with each number and what’s in that box somewhere else. This minimises the risk of someone stealing a box if they think it contains something valuable. Of course most employees will be very trust worthy but you can never be too careful

The vacuumed trash bag and the paper plates between the breakable plates are simply genius.

My tip would be to film a tour of your old house with everything in its place before you start packing up. I did this before I moved out of my very first apartment and it’s so nice to look back on, to remind you of a home you loved 🙂❤️ good luck with the move Emily, sooo excited for you! X

I used to have SO MANY books. And I moved 4 or 5 times with them. To prevent heavy book boxes, I packed a few books in almost every single box, with other things. So I never had a crazy heavy box of books. And we've done the color coding with tape. SUPER helpful.

I’ve moved a lot.
Another thing I’ve always done is pack stuff you don’t need ahead of time and the essentials last. That way you don’t have a mad panic on the day.
The party plate idea is genius! Will definitely be using that in the future!

I have moved 8 times in the past 10 years and I learned some of these the hard way. I really didn’t think of cutting handles into boxes that’s something I didn’t know. I’m amazed with the content and I’m sure this video will help so many.

When labelling your boxes make sure to write any important info on the top and the sides of the box! You want to be able to read it if boxes get stacked on top of each other.

I'm not done watching the video so this might be mentioned but here's my tip:
Take a picture of the back of your TV so that when you arrive you can put the cords in easily

One more tip: if you have any broken cardboard boxes or any smaller ones you don’t want to use, break them and put them next to the walls of bigger cardboard boxes you are using, for extra padding and cushion specially when packing glass ware or decor items 💖

Put a rubber band at the top of your hangers to keep them together so they don’t fall to the bottom of the bag!

Hack 2: plastic grocery bags work super well to wrap breakable items. Even the plastic grocery bags you ripped open can be used to wrap breakable. It seems a little thin at first but you'll realize as you wrap items and place them in boxes together that the plastic wrapped around everything makes really thick protective puffy barriers that compliment each other and everything is padded and safe!

Great hacks. Banana boxes from supermarkets are a lifesaver. The have the built in handles, keep the thick paper so nothing falls through the holes, as long as you don’t pack them with too much heavy stuff like books, they are easy to carry. They also stack, winner winner. !!

Fab tips. One that we used was having our picnic bag in our car so we had plates, forks etc for the takeaway and breakfast the next morn. 😊

I’m very sentimental and I have learned that the “everyday” things are what make up “the good ol’ days”. Each home I have lived in is a season of my life. While I do end up with many pictures within the home, one of the best things I’ve learned to do is take pictures of each room without anyone in it, same as if you’re taking a picture of a loved one. I wish I had always done this, it’s like a visual time capsule. Then you can start de cluttering and packing, etc. One day your children will be grown and moved out, and these pictures will make nice momentos.

Getting ready to move into my first owned home and found that the vacuum trash bags was bloody brilliant! I don’t have money to spare at the moment buying moving supplies due to the closing costs of the home but this was very helpful!

Liked your video, helpful! Thank you. Just wanted to add my family owns supermarkets I wouldn't use boxes from markets bc they could contain roach eggs or mouse poop.
