I've got a 7900 xtx arriving today after 15 years using nvidia because I'm sick of their greed. I hope intel releases some excellent cards in their next generation to help deal with the insane GPU market.

This AMD generation has definitely been weird. The chiplet design seems very hard to optimize. Usually AMD drivers improve as the generation matures but so far that just hasn't happened for RDNA 3. Hopefully they figure it out.

Just finished a 3k build with the 7900x3d and 7900XTX, and I'm loving it. It's way less expensive for my Target gaming range (1440p 144hz).

I bought a 7900 XTX recently for my birthday. I was for a long time Team Green, however after many researches for the past weeks I decided to buy a 7900 XTX instead. 200€ less for the same rasterized performance if not better, also saved some money by not needing a new PSU for the RTX 4080. Yes Ray Tracing performance isn't great however most games don't look any better with RT on. I am more than satisfied with my 7900 XTX, with a little bit of overclocking it performs better as well. FSR 3.0 will be a nice bonus for me especially if it will be as good as AMD claims it to be. I guess we will see in the future. Anyway, whoever wants great rasterized performance for less €€€ then definitely go for 7900 XTX, don't listen to the people who say AMD drivers are terrible when NVIDIA drivers are not any better (experienced it myself). I trust AMD with all my heart.

As far as RE4, I don't think the 4080 is VRAM limited. If it had to pull from system ram, its 1% lows would tank, and it actually still edges the XTX there.

Most likely, the RT workload is just too light to really cripple the Radeon, like in Far Cry and other AMD sponsored games.

What if you lock FPS to say 60 fps using DLSS 3 frame rate generation? What will be the rate between normal frames and generated frames, and how it will affect the consumption?

RX 7900 XTX ALL DAY LONG - This is my personal choice. The 7900 GPU will outgrow the 4080 soon anyways and in the long run, well there is no long run for the 4080 against the 7900 GPU. Thats just a fact. We have seen it year after year with the optimization AMD manage to do with drivers and other features.

I will order the "PowerColor Radeon RX 7900 XTX Red Devil - 24GB GDDR6 RAM" This card come with "Starfield Premium Edition" and it will last for years and years rocking my two 34" 3440 x 1440p Samsung monitors for music composing and graphic artworks and then use my LG 60" 4K for epic singleplayer gaming.

Hi Daniel. It would be better for your future videos to show one percent lows as a percentage of average. That makes it easy to kinda understand how much is the drop.
For example,
4080 FPS AVG: 100% (Actual FPS 200)
7900 XTX AVG: 90% (Actual FPS 180)
4080 1% Lows: 70% (Actual FPS 140)
7900 XTX 1% Lows: 50% (Actual FPS 100)

Got a RD LE 7900 xtx open box on May 24th for $899 from the egg. That was still very high imo, but I'm happy with the performance.

I had a RTX 2060 6gb & upgraded to a RX 7900 XT. Found it at my local microcenter for $780 with a free copy of Last of Us part 1. I thought it was a good deal & performs great at 1440p.

Daniel I think that higher performance on 7900XTX in RE4R 4k max could also be because of 34% higher memory bandwidth (960 vs 716.8 GB/s)
It's hard to tell, but doesn't look like 4080 running out of Vram, and 1% lows are actually higher on nvidia card.
You can also see similar behaviour in TLOU. 4080 is 20% faster in 1440p, but in 4k it's only 10% faster.

I just purchased the RX 7900 XTX Powercolor Hellhound for $835, first timer for AMD GPU in my computer! Upgrading from a RTX 3070 ti, which was not ideal for 4k gaming on my samsung s95b, 8gb of vram was an issues.
