I got my paddle yesterday and was out playing with it thirty minutes later!
I had a couple of air balls, but it was great! To be expected getting used to it. Firm, pops nicely, handle feels good, well rounded feeling! I like it!

You can smooth down the lead tape with the side of a Sharpy marker or something round like that.

weight added to the sides really made a difference on my Costa paddle. The Costa has a lot of grit and I like to spin the ball. That added weight helped me when I was a little off center.

Using the Vision as my first paddle at 75 years . 5 months into the game and think I need to add lead tape to the top for more power. Try that before a drop the bucks for the Perseus.

Would like to know if he uses the same weight paddle for singles and doubles. 8.6oz isnt that heavy for singles.

Anyone experiment with multiple over grips ? I currently have 4 on my paddle to alleviate squeezing and mitigate elbow pain

Does Collin setup his paddle the same way with his Scorpeus?

In your opinion. Is it better to go for a low powerful serve or a serve with more height?

Hey Ben, why did you switch back to the Perseus Alpha 1?!? You have to have heard by now, a ton of people who bought a Perseus are freaking out. They’re thinking the paddle is different than the version they purchased with the new graphics. And that you’re not happy with it so you switched back to your Alpha 1’s…..

If the lead tape is 2 gram per inch and you put on 4 strips that are 5 inches you are adding 40 grams. If 1 oz is approx 28 grams you put on more than 1 oz? So if the paddle starts about 8 when you are all done isn't closer to 9 oz or even a little more?

EDIT: it seems like the linked lead tape has been updated from 2g/inch to 1g/inch

Original:

The linked lead tape is likely the wrong weight just like in the last video. I hope we can get confirmation on this as I know multiple people who have been affected by buying that tape and testing it out and ending up with something way too heavy.

He said the lead tape adds about 0.5 ounces to the paddle weight, that's 14.1748 grams.
14.1748/2 = 7.0874 grams per side
7.0874/2 = 3.5437 grams per strip (since there are 2 strips stacked on each side)
3.5437/5 = 0.70874 grams per inch.

I'm assuming the linked tape is wrong instead of Ben being wrong because he's probably weighed his paddle before and after.
The common lead tape weights I've seen in grams per inch are 0.5, 1, and 2.
The 0.70874 may be including the added weight from the grip tape and electrical tape since his 0.5 ounce value sounded like it was derived from weighing the paddle after the completed setup.

So that means the closest lead tape weight would be the 0.5 grams / inch which is 4x lighter than what you'd get if you used the (OLD) linked lead tape at 2g/inch.

I'm also kind of surprised as a former engineer he eyeballed the first 5 inch cut and eyeballed the alignment on each side meaning there will be some inconsistency each time he sets this up. It is annoying to try to measure spots on the edge guard though, it would be awesome if a company put some small measurement markings on the edge guard to make it easier to test out different lead tape alignments.
