Honestly coming from the middle of Europe seeing how people make mashed potatoes always made me think why they are so different from the ones we eat here. Simply boiled potatoes mashed with butter using a masher and done.

I always use potatoes with skin on them for mashed, and usually leave it like 10% chunky. Usually red or gold potatoes. I just like the varied texture/bites instead of it being a uber smooth homogenous texture, tho I def want to try making it like how you did in the vid one day too! Looks fancy

Here’s an easy way to boil potatoes. Put diced potatoes in pot and add an inch or 2 of cream with a little water (I add some garlic cloves too) Put on stove with lid on med then low after it starts boiling (stir occasionally & watch so it doesn’t burn or overflow) when potatoes are tender add butter & seasoning then mash however you want. I rarely make mash potatoes any other way since I stared doing this.

Ive tried all of the chef and youtuber axoims, and tbh I have yet to find anything that beats nice fluffy russet potatoes simply boiled and mashed and mixed with a fork with butter salt and pepper

instant mash is sooo good, you add plenty of butter, cream, and sour cream and you cant even tell them from fine dining potato puree

I do rustic mash all the time...just wash potatoes, boil till tender and mash with skin on with a tonne of butter and cream to desired consistency...seasoning to taste (chicken boullion if you want something extra) fantastic!!
