Most authentic fisherman ever…fishes…tangles…wrestles branches with rod and line…doesn’t edit it all out! It’s reality! Great channel.

Don’t worry about netting skills bud. Been fly fishing for 40 years. Hell, no one even used nets till the last 15-18 years or so when fishing those little creeks. Hats off to you not coming from a fishing back ground or attempting to do it till later in life.
Your a fine fisherman and make great videos.
I’ll keep watching!!

Pay little heed to the armchair adjudicators. 25K subscribers, you're bound to pick some up. You're making the effort to get out there & you're kind enough to take us with you.

Hi, I'mJapanese trout fisher man from Canada. Thanks for your interesting movies! Your casting is so beautiful and similar accuracy to traditional Japanese Tenkara fisher mans. When I back to Japan for my vacasion, I'd like to go to my lovely Japanese stream with you! Enjoy Tenkara!

I love the way you think! Small creeks are the best. Glad you feel the same way about landing a big fish when there ain't much water!

Had someone merely told me about catching those two “species” in the same water — and from a very small stream, no less — I would have been, umm, skeptical. But you convincingly demonstrated that little creek’s reality. Great video — thank you!

To me the beauty is catching a shockingly large fish in a tiny remote creek. It's always an exciting surprise.

I love your point about “large” fish size being relative. I once caught a 6 pound channel catfish and I told people it was huge… because I was fishing for panfish with an ultralight rod.

"Fish size doesn't motivate me, Creek size does"
Yeap, totaly dug in that vibe.
I target baby tarpon with tenkara not because of its size but because it is what i have in my neck of woods and also cause the small ones i catch in the tight mangrove channels are a heck of fun, as well as an amazing chalenge to my tenkara skils.

Seeing one of your videos is what got me into Tenkara and I have loved every fishing journey I have done using this method. I consider you the Guru of Tenkara because you make it look so easy and you almost always catch fish. And when you say ""its Huge!" I get it. I don't think you are meaning it's the biggest fish you have ever seen, you mean it's huge for that location. Keep making and sharing these awesome videos, thanks.

It's so fun to see fish swimming around in that beautiful clear pool at the end. It just put a smile on my face. Great video!

That was cool Tristan. I enjoy all of your vids, but this one was different. I know you're not after bigger fish, but sometimes it's nice to see what these rods can handle for prospective rod buyers. I would have liked to see you catch a few more, but only because I didn't want the video to end LOL. I don't think I could have left a spot like that if they were still biting. Wow, very cool again. Thanks for sharing.

By the way, I took your rod reviews to heart and purchased a couple rods, and both have really given me a ton of fun times and caught probably over 2K fish (not trout)! One was the Aventik rod that you liked, and I had the pleasure of traveling to Colorado to try it out for trout. I didn't have much time, but I caught probably 20 browns and a few rainbows in about 2 1/2 hours of fishing time. It was a blast on that little rod. Nothing big, 9" was the biggest, but I felt like I was in one of your videos :)

Ah yes, "last cast, I swear" is the real issue with fishing! Lol Love your vids man and that is because I am mostly saltwater guy. Love seeing Tenkara stuff, though. I like that you aren't trying to convert people, you just do you and that genuineness is what gives your vids magic!

So funny how right you are about relative fish size. I watch my old fishing videos and hear myself say “that’s a big fish!” with the same excitement over an 8 incher in a small creek and a 20 incher in a big river. It’s all good!

It is amazing to me that trout can survive summer in that desert area. Really enjoyed the video.

I'm very much enjoying watching your videos in 4K. Nice scenery, I can see your line now, and in that last big pool you were at I could see numerous big fish swimming around as you were catching some of them -- nice!

Fishing is fishing and any kind is fun any size is fun you cant go wrong no matter what. I particularly like to try this again as a kid I used to do this all the time but with kayaking I left it but at my age I think its time to go back and give it a go.
