I was a full time creator during 2020 because i lost my job. My channel doesn’t make enough to live off of it solely but it definitely helped . Thanks for these tips . Can’t wait to learn new things. Good luck everyone !

Favourite piece of advice: have the confidence to sell and don’t feel bad for being compensated. I love your channel, it always inspires me!

THANK YOU for telling everyone to reject the Starving Artist story. I've seen so many people believe that anyone in any type of creative field is inherently going to be poor because they have to be all-in to succeed. And then there are people who actually fall into this trap because they refuse to get a full-time job that helps them pay the bills, which hurts their mental health and affects their motivation to keep going. Makes absolutely no sense to me

As a literal artist, the note about the starving artist is on point, and I’m trying to work on bettering my way of thinking on it! All about the mindset!!

Yes to the first reflection! We see this all the time and wish more people would have a plan before quitting. It will allow the business to grow instead of rushing to get money and hurting the business, your clients, and yourself in the short and long run.

Fantastic advice!!! I love how she talked about giving up the “starving artist” mindset! It’s so true and we can literally manifest anything if we know our true worth 💚🙌🏻✨

If you aren't making money and more importantly PROFIT, you more likely have a hobby and not a business! Yesss Vanessa - thank you for sharing this with your community because it needs to be said.

Thank you for this.
I'm currently jobless and trying to give YouTube my best. I'm only at 105 subscribers and trying to be consistent by posting daily though its a little tiresome as I have no camera nor tripod stand. And my phones screen just got broken beyond recognition as I was trying to pile up containers to act as a tripod stand. But even with that, I'm not giving up. I'll keep grinding and pushing.

I definitely agree. We shouldn't quit a stable job to start a business. Being a founder is risky enough, we shouldn't be adding financial stress on top of it.

6:40 - that is the secret to not burning out. Focusing on your own niche and letting people who are into that niche find you, instead of the other way around.

I started my Youtube channel after I lost my job...that's how I found Vanessa. I was googling "how to exit a job" and came across her videos. I underestimated how long it would take to CONSISTENTLY make money online. There were a lot of ups and downs my first year and I ended up going back to a full-time corporate job which gave me security and creative freedom where I did not have to stress about the views and money. I'm still working my 9-5 and am making more money on Youtube and Tiktok now but I like having both.

I just made the same mistake you did. I quit my job a month ago and now I realised that my savings are not going to last much longer especially living in London and alone in a studio flat. I'm grateful I came across your video and channel. I'll get a part-time job soon in other to pay my bills and get some income coming. I can't wait to reach my goal of being a full time content creator. Thank you so much for sharing this video it has been an eye opener for me and probably for many others too!!You won another subs!!!God Bless You!!

I've been following you for about a year now and am pretty impressed. I'm old enough to be your mom. My son is actually your age, and I never thought I'll be following someone your age. This just shows that it doesn't matter what age. We can all learn from each other. You also gave me so much hope for the younger generation. lol. Your drive, determination, and consistency are the same values I've learned and carried over with me to entrepreneurship. Your parents raised you well (Tell them I said this.). I love how you mentioned the difference between hobby and business. I believe this is one huge problem of those wanting to be their own boss. It's the lack of entrepreneurship knowledge and skills. More power and blessings to you and your business.

Yes yes yes 🙌So true. The mindset 🧠is what stops us from showing who we really are, and to demonstrate your abilities and how far can we go through this journey. It All comes from a perspective. Everything will come along 💪
