5 'Impossible' Things That Can Happen On Other Planets

When you find yourself looking at the blazing sun, ask yourself: can an object have two shadows instead of one? I’ll give you a second… And yes! Two shadows are possible when it comes to exoplanet Kepler-One-Six-b. The thing is, it revolves around two stars in the constellation of Cygnus. Two sources of light mean two shadows - that makes sense. Trust me, there are a lot of other incredible phenomena hidden on other planets that even movies never showed us. Make yourself comfortable and join my little game to find out what you know about the strangest things occurring on other planets.

"The laws of physics are ignored by this planet"

Proceeds to explain how this planet follows the exact same method of keeping it's ice as a planet previously mentioned, both under the laws of physics

"can an object have two shadows?" I've seen people having four shadows when standing on a football field so that doesn't sound very "impossible" to me

A tenth (ninth) planet in our solar system is most likely true, we have been unable to find it yet but forces pulling on certain planets means this is most likely accurate especially over donut shaped planets which are only hypothetical because someone imagined it

That planet is not defying the laws of physics. Vapour and melting points change with pressure. This is a known factor of physics. Therefore, with sufficient pressure (via gravity), ice can remain solid at incredible temperatures.

As such, the correct answer to that question is 3) a planet which defies the laws of physics. Since the example given did not violate any known laws. Sure, if you were saying that at 1 Earth Atmosphere it remained ice at 400+ degrees, then it would defy physics without another explanation.

But it’s clear that the gravity was a variable in this equation, and by extension - the pressure.

The only ‘physics’ being defied, is a grade school understanding of physics, as even high school physics teaches that melting points are variable with pressure. I didn’t even take physics and I knew this.

Meteors do still often hit the moon. I watched one hit in 2010. And they will cover the tracks left by astronauts. Sooner than theorized
Planets can be ejected from their solar orbits. By numerous means. So not all planets have a host star. I can also imagine some stars dying, and loosing their gravitational pull on their guest planets.

6:26 A team of researchers found a collection of at least 70 exoplanets without parent stars — the largest single group of rogue planets ever found — in a patch of space about 420 light-years from Earth, a new study reports. - 22 Dec 2021

Ah yes the elusive double shadow. Anyone who has been close to 2 streetlights at once will know you can have 2 shadows.

A recent paper actually calls into question the methodology used in the demotion of Pluto. The paper which suggests reinstating Pluto also suggests upgrading several moons including Earth's and some other dwarf planets and other objects to Planet status. Given that many of them are geologically active.

I like the interactive format! This is a great idea since encourages viewers to watch till the end of the video (one of those things the algorithm likes) plus the questions that you asked were not super simple! I mean you would have to have more than a basic knowledge of astronomy and astrophysics to get a perfect score. Excellent video! A+ :)

My Future Prediction : It may happen that all the planets after many many years, will become habitable. Maybe not to humans but to some other creatures. The planets would go though certain necessary changes to give birth to life to some sort of non-human creatures.

"Can an object have 2 shadows?" Someone who's never watched a soccer game at night haha!

2:45... regardless of the example that follows, the premise that a planet can defy the laws of physics is already wrong. If anything seemingly defies the laws of physics, it's only because we don't fully understand the nature of it.

Very common MISTAKE in many exoplanet videos: the narrator says ''larger'' instead of MASSIVE when he refers to the MASS of the object. So, 55 Cnc e is 8 times more MASSIVE, not ''larger''. Its SIZE, though, is 1.91 times LARGER than Earth's.

I love that ending; it also matchs so well his last words. Cool!

You should do a video on the north Atlantic current especially with the warning scientists gave recently. It depends upon a delicate balance of fresh and salt water but to much fresh water is melting into the current making it become unstable or possible even stop creating a doomsday scenario
