Estrogen sensitivity is something that needs to be talked about. I can only have Progesterone only (started on the pill, then got Mirena IUD) because estrogen made me literally bleed for 2 months straight and increased my PMDD symptoms. But once I switched to progesterone only that completely went away. More people need to talk about that kind of stuff

If you guys have really bad cramps that cause a lot of stomach problems causing gas or gives you the poops you should really consider getting it too!

I was on one type of mini pill which was giving me bad side effects. It particularly made my mental health worse to the point where I would cry everyday. Now Im a few weeks into taking a different mini pill which has made a huge difference and I feel better in myself. It is true that you need to keep trying different pills as they affect everyone differently

I feel like people are confused by the period versus not a period she discussed. When you are on combo pills, your body will (more than likely) not ovulate. Ovulation is caused by a rise in estrogen and once you ovulate, your body releases progesterone which cause the uterine lining to shed. If you ovulate and bleed, you have a period because you are shedding due to ovulation. If you do NOT ovulate, you have withdrawal bleeding in which your uterine lining gets thicker while on BC, and once you take your final week on the pill, your body naturally empties out the excess uterine lining - this is withdrawal bleeding and is not classified as a period.

From self-experience, BP really helps severe menstrual cramps and acne ...

I have terrible cramping with my period... and I genuinely had no idea birth control pills could help with that. I figured more hormones would make cramps worse so the whole "like helps like" thing is really exciting information for me.

I can tell you right now my body did not just bounce right back when I stopped the pill. It took me 3 months to get my period again.

I think women mean to say, they don't want artificial hormones in their body. Everybody is different and there has been no studies showing how these synthetic hormones actually do effect women in a negative way. I had friends gain weight, get facial hair, bloated etc and they have no thyroid issues. They may produce it already but the estrogen and progesterone given is not their own. Maybe if they can clone the bodies own estrogen and progesterone maybe so many wouldn't have side effects and issues with it. Until then doctors disregard that fake hormones do mess up a women's body it is not natural. Since the doctors get compensation to fill prescriptions and are told lies they seem to believe it verse listening to their patients.

This was such an educational video. I was freaked out about my chances of getting pregnant while on the pill and also had worries that my mental health was suffering from the pill. Both of my worries were eased by this video and i found out about withdraw bleeding even though I’ve been taking the pill for almost 4 years now. Thank you so so so much!

My periods have gotten more painful years after starting birth control. I’m afraid I’ve developed PCOS, my mother had many cysts. I’m on what I think the highest dose of estrogen is, 35, I had my period for 30 days straight and I was off for a week. The opposite of a cycle. Perhaps I need another birth control option.

This is really helpful. I feel like people make the pill to be this bad guy but honestly PCOS makes my life hell so I'd rather be on it and have minor side effects than off it.
