Back in elementary (and middle) school we had two buildings (one with preschool, kindergarten, cafeteria, and gym, and a second with 1st-8th grade) half the first building had an old Edwards system, the second half had an addressable firelite system. The second building had an addressable notifier system. They were linked together in a loop

I feel like this would be a non-conventional way to upgrade an existing conventional system with an addressable system without having to rip the old system out. Oooor, putting a new system into a maxed out conventional system when an additional building is annexed into the main building. Food for thought I guess!

Pretty interesting! My school has 3 wings + portables and that is not counting the fact that our school is being remodeled to a 2 story config. Currently, all our wings have diff pull stations / alarms. Not sure about panels but I've seen 2 between the 2 offices.

I've seen a panel link with a vintage AC panel and a communicator panel that had a retrofitted relay that was wired in series with the bell circuit on the old panel.

You can also disable the other panel zone, and then reset the system :)

ESTis trash notifier is pretty good. Simplex is pretty good in someways. firelite is all right.

it would be cool if there was a tracking alarm feature, where similar to a tracking supervisory, it is only in alarm while a condition is met, otherwise it's normal.

this setup still can work...however both panels will also need their companion panels annunciators at both locations

ex:

Location A: Main Panel A + Annunciator B
Location B: Main Panel B + Annunciator A

or you can also do:
Common Location: Annunciator A + Annunciator B

Point is, you need to have a common point of physical control of both systems regardless of where the CPUs are located

the issue with resseting the both systems if i had this as an connected system from my room to my outdoor building i would disable the zone on one panel so when i reset one the other system dosent need to go into alarm again. and in the end i can reset both and when both are resetted just enable the zone again.
