Tenon & Grooving Router Jig From Trend
VJS/TG/JIG - Varijig Tenon & Grooving Jig is a great tool that can speed up your work and provide accurate and repeatable cuts.

*Disclamer*
This Jig has been gifted to me by Trend, however I'm not being paid to make this video or to say any nice things about it. Thoughts on this product are my own.

I didn't mean to be pedantic in my earlier post, I couldn't understand how you got to the 2mm spacing from your collet size until I twigged you were referring to the guide bush. Fair play to you, though, your English is better than a great many Englishman!

I bought one of these after watching your video last week. Not for the first time, I misunderstood quite what is and isn't. However, with a little improvisation, it could offer greater versatility. For example, the Finnbar Saunders-inspired bottom Squaring Butt that, by default, attaches to one of the shorter extrusions, also fits the longer extensions so, theoretically, it could be deployed to cut mortices, thus making it a mortice & tenon jig (c£240 at current prices) and also a lock jig (c£80). Probably of little interest to tradesmen who have either better options at their disposal or prefer a jig specific to the task but for us mere hobbyists on tight budgets, limited space and not in receipt of freebies it makes it less of a one-trick pony.

I have every confidence that you will come up with a far cheaper method of achieving the same or better jig Tomaz. By the way I've just finished fitting a soft start module to my Evolution Rage 5S saw, following your instructions to the letter, worked a treat. Thanks for your videos.

Good demo of the capabilities and of course the limitations ... a fair and balanced review 👍
As said below (and by you), there are plenty of examples of homemade jigs which are superior in design and use, i.e. they don't require a guide bush, they don't require any calculation of offsets (the edges show the point of cut), they use decent sized knobs to lock parts in position(not crappy screws), they can do grooves of any size and position as well as larger areas (like a juice groove) without the need for those crappy little stops (or extra pieces to support the router) ... and at a fraction of the cost of this jig 😁

I made something similar for cutting dados for bookcase shelves. Much longer and narrower but better for the task. Used a shank bearing trimming router bit so I could use the shelf to set the width of the groove. Worked great.

I am more impressed with the Pipe clamp for a hold down camp. Very impressive

It's ideal for a professional user for random sized cut outs quickly expecially if working on site away from their workshop. The price tag is for quality and backup. Tony

Very balanced review. Don't think it offers enough for me to buy one, interested if you make your own.
Bit worrying that a Trend guide bush on a Trend router can accidentally cut part of the Trend jig away - not enough internal testing of their products together?

For the average woodworker its a non starter at £99 + £75 for the other bits…… I would do diy temp jigs as a work around solution. I wouldn't say no if someone gave me one though as a present !

It is all nice but Trend seems to have allergy to selling in Europe, esp. Poland. I have yet to find a retailer that carries most of their products. So far I was only able to buy their depth gauge..maybe my internet search skills are pants all search results point to UK stores in most cases. If you got a line to them to provide them feedback please share this with them..if they listen that is another story.

Its not something id buy. Can make a similar, and wider, jig from scrap, much much cheaper, for dadoes, etc. And or a sled for your router table for tenons etc

Interesting jig. I don't really care for all the phillips screw adjustments. I would prefer hex sockets, but if they could have somehow made it without needing an additional tool for adjustments, that would make it even better. Overall, I don't think this gives enough benefits for the price.
