Amazing Sliding Dovetail // Easy Joinery

In this week’s video, I show you how to make a sliding dovetail. This mechanical application can be used in a multitude of projects from adjustable table tops, boxes, to jigs and fences.
I’ll go through the process of what I did to set up my router table to make repeatable sliding dovetail joints on 3/4 inch boards.

I've made a couple of shaker style hanging wall shelves (for nick-nacks) using this technique. I really like it.

I've used this method in the past and learned not to use the finish piece use a scrap piece first to make sure. Thanks for sharing

Great for book case and shelf building. Might be a lil more time for set up but the strength of the book case joint would be awesome. Better than screws holding it. Did you ever make a jig for using larger dowels like 1\2" etc.

Can this be done with Bamboo panel? A friend of mine said that it couldn't as the bamboo would crack too easily, but I'm not sure if that's true.

Eric, it looks like I have the same router table fence as you. Mine is not 90 degrees upright to the table...did you have to do anything to hours to get it to upright 90?
