The Galaxy S22 is the smallest and cheapest phone in Samsung’s new lineup. It can feel a bit cramped if you’re used to big-screened devices, but those who prefer smaller phones will feel right at home. Just be warned that the decrease in size also means shorter battery life.

Check out our full written reviews of the Galaxy S22 lineup below for more details.

I've had my s22 for a little over a day now and I'm loving it! I'm coming from a Galaxy s10e which was an absolute champ. The 120hz display is wonderful, (first time I've used one on a phone). A feature not enough people are talking about is the in-display ultrasonic figure-print sensor. It is absolutely fantastic. The s10e had a finger-print sensor on the side which was really good and I was excited, but nervous about the in-display one, and it has exceeded my expectations. The 4 years of updates & 5 years of security will be great for me considering I'll be starting college in the fall, and a fresh start will be nice. Also even though I'll have a case on my phone, the s22 design is just beautiful in-person.

I have a Galaxy S9 I think I would like to upgrade now lol. Switched from the Iphone to a galaxy S9 four years ago and is still working flawlessly. Team Samsung!

"The 6.1 inch screen is perfect for people who love a small phone."

I'm still using my Galaxy S8 with a 5.8 inch screen lol. I guess the S22 will be my new one :)

I'm watching on my green s22. Love the compact size and how fast it is. Came from an iPhone xr and the performance on this device seems on par with the iPhone 12 I sold last year. Seems like the battery life could be better but otherwise this is a great phone. It's my first Samsung s series device.

I’ve always been an iPhone user but I can’t deny how incredible the S22 looks and performs in person. It really makes the iPhone 13 feel a little stale by comparison.

I definitely prefer a screen size closer to 6", at that point it still fits in my pocket, isnt a crazy priced foldable, and is still very capable

The S22 is the perfect size. I've just upgraded from the S20 and it's superb and so much more of a premium feel.

I simply don't understand why people like or need big phones. I guess it depends on what you are using it for on a daily basis. I use it for messaging / phone calls and the odd bit of YouTube or Netflix on a lunch break. 6.1 inch is a perfect size (not being rude😂).

I usually upgrade every other year (so didn't bother with S21) so always seems a bigger upgrade when you do it every 2 years. I found the battery more than good enough for my daily use. Also most people are never far away from a charger at work or car.

I'm watching this on my Green s22 and I have to say it's the most refined phone Samsung has ever made. There's not a single component I find myself wishing was more high end. And yes the battery life is perfectly fine

Watching on my green colour S22 🔥 absolutely love it, yes even with the Exynos CPU which in my opinion is not bad as made out to be, I have an S22 Ultra with the Snapdragon CPU, from gaming to other tasks both are equally as good for everyday normal people, the Snapdragon does run a little hotter from my testing, the Exynos has better sustained performance whereas the Snapdragon has raw power going for it. Battery could be better on my S22 but even that it's not bad as made out to be, it's not amazing nor is it bad, it's just decent.

I have the regular S22 and it's a near perfect phone. It's fast. feels perfect in the hand because of the subtle curve on the frame. My favorite Android phone. Best Galaxy phone ever. battery life is enough for me but I would be considered a light user.

My wife got a white S22 and I got a black S22 Ultra. I prefer black phones but the white is amazing looking. It really looks and feels premium. It's worth noting just how much lighting the S22 feels versus the Ultra as well. It definitely feels different typing on a smaller phone (we both came from Note9s) but the phone all around feels great. For anyone looking for something smaller than the larger phones most manufacturers offer, I think the S22 is an excellent option.

I upgraded to the S22 Plus from the S9 Plus. I'm currently rocking the UAG Monarch case with the Zagg screen protector. I'm good to go for another 3 or 4 years.

seems like in 2022 6, 1" screen phones are considered small

Great review! It was well produced with a knowledgeable and pleasant presenter! Although I'm sticking with my S21 Ultra, it looks like the base S22 received some nice upgrades that you detailed very well here.

Thank you for doing a review on the smaller phone. I have tiny hands and I find any phone over 6 inches too cumbersome. The smaller s22 has been neglected by most YouTubers. Yet I think it will sell the most units.

I just got to see the S22 at Best Buy. It does feel like a small phone. A little smaller then my iPhone XR with a case on. I preordered the S22 plus for the bigger screen. The S22 plus feels like the perfect size and is only a little larger the my XR with a case on. The S22 Ultra is just enormous.

Awsome! Thanks for the review. Was undecided between the iphone mini and the S22. The compact size of the S22 with all the great features such as longer battery life, finger print authentication and better cameras makes it a great choice. Thanks again.

I lugged a Note 9 around for 3 years and just switched back to a smaller phone, the Galaxy S22... wish I switched sooner. So nice having a smaller phone

I've been using this for 2 days.
And for those who asked for battery life, it's about 4-5 sot with my current usage. That about few percent juice left.
The phone still learning about my usage. Give it time about a week or so. Probably will get better a bit.
So my current conclusion: as for phone this small, the battery is just enough, not great, just enough.
But for power user (who does not mind larger phone), this is not a phone for you.

Preordered the phone on launch date and the wait is almost unbearable haha. I see some comments here already watching from their s22s and I am so jealous 🥺 hope mine arrives soon!
