When you get to the end fight, might be smart to craft slow falling potions. The dragon has an attack where it flings you high in the air and slow falling would help a lot with that. You can make it with phantom membranes. The full process goes: nether wart in top with 3 water bottles in the bottom, then when the nether wart gets used put in the membrane. If you wanna make the potion last longer put red stone dust in the top slot after you brew the slow falling
