You did it!! YouTube has REVERSED its decision & reinstated this video! AMAZING EFFORT everyone, I genuinely believe it will save lives IF we can get this video to the top of search results for 'fractal wood burning'. Unfortunately, we lost 7000+ original comments when it was banned, so if you want to help please leave a comment, share and watch it through. Thanks again, we did something good together ❤

Ann stood strong against YouTube's nonsense and won. Way to go Ann!

I’m sorry- uhhh creators, according to YouTube’s OWN RULES, cannot monetize “harmful and dangerous acts”. So WTF YouTube???

I am the widow from this video. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart for not only making this video and putting it together so well, but sharing this message. It is a message I will spend the rest of my life sharing, as I miss my husband every second of every day. ♥️ and thank you for fighting to get it back.

My dad was looking at fractal wood burning and he was like "Come see this! Isn't it cool!" And my heart literally stopped. I asked him not to do it and showed him this video, and he was like, "Well, I guess I'm not doing it." Thank you for letting me have my dad for another few years before he tries something stupid again :)

So if YouTube is the one uploading a video to Facebook, are they liable for the the content? Seems like it would be hard to deny responsibility for the content in that situation. Interesting.

It's so sickening that YouTube will aggressively go after some channels for the smallest thing while allowing and sometimes even actively promoting dangerous content.

I've been in a Woodworking school, all of our teachers were very experienced and would always prioritise safety above everything else. We had to design and craft a small cabinet for one of our end of the year project, and one student wanted to fractal burn his cabinet because It'd look cooler, and his teacher threatened him like "If you try to make or i even see a small fractal burn on your cabinet, you not only won't get your diploma, but I'll EXPEL you from the school, and that's if you're still alive, GOT IT?!" The guy fortunately listened and ended up opting for a simple and safe wood burning with an engraver, but imagine if he did it anyway 😨

The fact that these hacks CAN or LITERALLY MAKE people dead is mind-boggling to me. It just goes to show how little Social Media platforms care about the content that is being published.

A good rule of thumb is that once you’ve started foraging electrical parts from a microwave, it might be a good time to reconsider whatever you’re about to do

The fact that a baking channel is doing more to protect the safety and lives of the viewers of YouTube than YouTube themselves. The situation is ludicrous.

Keep it up Anne. Utmost respect for you and your content.

Commenting to bump a year later. No joking, I only learned about this technique from a random Facebook reel about an hour ago and thought it looked AWESOME. Opened YouTube 15 minutes ago and your video was suggested. Had no idea it was about the same craft technique and had an actual “oh crap” moment you started talking about it.

Not glad the internet is creepily watching my every move and making judgements about my interests, but glad it showed me your video before I showed the one from Facebook to my wood-turning step-grandpa. Thanks for potentially keeping us from doing something stupid.

"No, we don't pay them; it's for exposure" is one of the oldest excuses for getting free content out of creative types. Artists have been dealing with it forever.

I'm an electrical engineer and I'm gonna say this:
She is absolutely right. Don't do this.
We practice safety measures when dealing with high voltages and things still can go terribly wrong.
Transformers are EXTREMELY dangerous.

Microwave transformers are one of the most horrifyingly dangerous things an amateur can get their hands on, and fractal wood burning is far from the only immensely dangerous thing they are featured in on youtube.

I've been an electrical engineer for 35 years and I don't even want to mess with Fractal Burning... This is insanely dangerous!

It’s still mind-blowing to me that we’ve seen YouTube has the power to censor and/or take down videos entirely, but do nothing to stop these videos that promote literal life-threatening ‘hacks.’

Ann, to reiterate what I said before this video was temporarily banned: You probably saved my life. I was looking into fractal wood burning lately, and while I fancy myself to sooner or later have found out about the dangers myself by research, I would not want to bet my life on it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Also, thanks for being persistent and risking a strike to get the video up again.

I'm so glad to see this is back up! Hopefully this will save more people

Saw a short recently with my partner- first time seeing fractal wood burning, partners first words were “and that video is going to kill someone” followed by an explanation of what would happen.

As the daughter of an electrician I wouldn’t go near anything like that with a 10ft insulated pole.

Thank you for doing this video ann, from my searches you appear to be number 2 in search results on fractal wood burning and since this video came up on my recommends 1 year later it looks like it’s going viral again. Well done!
