If western North Carolina Hurricane victims hadn’t gone viral on social media and brought attention to their desperate situation I doubt they would’ve received help at all in all honesty. Look how long it took for Asheville and Appalachian communities to get any response. 11 days is far too long to wait for help in a disaster of that magnitude.

People’s voices can make a difference for those in need.

7000 isn’t enough there should be at least 20-30 thousand troops all around when Katrina hit there were 35, 000 troops the next day or even the same day it’s taken way to long to get these 7000 out there and this is by far the worst disaster of my lifetime and I don’t know what took so long these people need help

Nearly 2 fkng weks in!? Im starting to lose confidence in the military, especially the Army and NG. Over 100, 000+ personnel within 150 miles and less. Where is the 3rd ID, 82nd Airborne, 101st AirMobile, USAF transports?the myriad of support Brigades, and Reserve, National Guard. There's over a quarter million citizens, fellow Americans that are hurting. Im ashamed as a veteran that all the politicians and "leaders" have failed so abjectly our countrymen and women. Massive amounts of troops and equipment lying fallow. Im sick at heart.
