You forgot about heat/sand issues... not that 'carbon neutral' if you have to be constantly using water to clean those pannels and 30% or more of that energy goes to A/C

SA is one of the countries on the front line challenging human survival - days of >120F, depletion of aquifers and salty seawater encroachment, and continuing greenhouse emissions making it worse everyday from the oil they sold to other countries. The things that cause political upheaval and mass migration.
