Do you fidget after you set up to the ball trying to get comfortable and aim correctly and do you miss greens even when you strike it well? Let me know below!

Such an important part of the game and so understated. I find aiming the iron clubhead using my right hand first then taking grip and then aligning feet works in that order. Also, I try to keep the club swinging along the laser line 12 inches before and more importantly after the ball.
I find it helps to align my feet 90 degrees to the bottom edge of my irons. As we have no alignment stick on the course, this helps a lot. Thank you for such an important video.

Your timing is perfect with this lesson. Absolutely my miss lately and I didn't realize it. While trying to vision the shot, and make my brain send it to my body, I've been lifting up instead of turning my head. I now can see that this is what is causing my approach to be 10 to even 20 yards left of my target. This puts so much stress on my short game, thus my round.
Love your channel, Thanks! - Brian 11.2

Hi Alex, another brilliant and well explained tip. I combined this with the "look slightly in front of the ball" tip and hit some of my best iron shots in months ... on target and much improved contact. Love these tips, thanks and well done.!!

Just wanna say thank you Alex.
Your tips and how you describe the feel aspect of this game are really great. Every good advice for us mortals that can be understood and applied into our own game and make improvements is just underestimated appreciated.
Thanks again.

Thanks for this great reminder on how to setup properly! I have been pulling a few shots each round and this might be why!

Oh I need this one, I try but often forget to pick an intermediate point. I always rush for some reason when I'm over the ball. Need to slow down my routine. Have a comp this weekend and I bet it will help.

Lately my irons have been going left of target and I think this might be the reason. Thanks for the video! -Bob 27 handicap

Great video Alex and reinforces what I’m already doing. Two questions for you. Firstly do you think it’s better to take practice swings next to the ball or behind the ball? Secondly is there any point on a full shot in looking at the target once we are properly aligned? The target isn’t going to move and we are not judging distances as for a chip or a putt. Thanks

Looking forward to testing this. I'm guilty of lining up my body first and I've had people tell me that I tend to aim right of target, even though I feel straight on.

Tell me what I’m missing in my pre-shot routine; I go behind th ball about 4ft and visualise the ball flight towards my target, I pick out an intermediate target 1-2feet in front of the ball, I walk up to the ball and do a few practice swings 6inches beside the ball, I align the clubface towards my intermediate target, I setup my feet & shoulder alignment, do a few waggles, peek at the intermediate target, pray that I don’t fumble and do my shot.

My routine is this - stand behind the ball with the club held out in front of me, make sure the grooves are perpendicular to the ground and the club is pointing at the target. Then step sideways with the club still up and parallel to the target line. This becomes the line for my feet. My struggle is to stay on that line and not shift my feet so I'm pointing to the right.

I was mimicking a coworker that has golfed for awhile, and started doing the club face first.
Immediately saw better results.

Now, to stop fidgeting. lol
