It's IRL accurate that Flame had a red wrap on her tail. In the horse world, red cloth (usually ribbon) on the top of the tail is a message saying "look out, this horse kicks!" just to give other equestrians a warning to not walk behind them. Very fitting for an aggressive trait.

Also (spoiler), since Lady's horse is aggressive and fearful, keep the red band around the tail - or at least something red on the tail. That's a sign among riders for a horse prone to kicking if you get to close to their rear!
