For those who are noticing the several derailments, this video was taken in the late spring as the park was getting reopened for the summer running season. The winter weather can be hard on the track, lots of frost heaves, pine needles and nasty little green pine cones, not to mention tree roots that like to grow right down the middle of the track. It takes several months of dedicated hard work by the all volunteer track gang to get things running smoothly. This past week I ran over the same route we filmed on without any derailments. Thanks track gang.

My wife and I "stumbled" across this museum while on a cross country trip in 2021. They just happened to be having an annual event that weekend, so we had a special treat. One of the owners asked if we would like a ride . An hour and a half later we came back to the station. The museum was just amazing in its size and detail. It was one the real highlights of our transcontinental trip.

This man spent his money on what makes him happy to whatever that degree is, other people will never understand this. I love seeing his inspiration for trains

That is one large small scale hobby. A coworker of mine had model railroad he called a garden scale railroad, but he only had about 6 acres. It was fun to play with. Thank you for the invite on this “trip” ! The re-railing tool was interesting.

We modified our vacation plans to include Train Mountain based on this video. We rode the trains today and had a blast! Thanks Mike!

I am fortunate enough to have ridden some of these 1/8 scale model trains and can say confidently that the whole time you just have a big smile on your face. I’m even fortunate to have ridden a train that was powered by real steam power and coal, it truly is really cool.

All alone and no drama and listening to my music, my favorite past time. 😊🚂

Fun fact! The full size turntable at The Henry Ford museum in Detroit is actually able to be pushed by one person as well! It's crazy!

Michael, this is awesome! I moved to southern Oregon almost two years ago now and 'Doh!' I didn't know this model train set-up existed. I've gotta go now and see it! What an amazing set-up and the acreage involved! Wow. Thanks Mike for bringing this story to us.

I love transportation!! Planes, boats, trains, cars, buses, trolleys, horse drawn carriages, and on and on. Appreciate people with a passion to keep a segment alive. At almost 74, if you say "go bye bye" i just go get a coat and never ask where or how!!!

Thanks for showing off another unique train oriented operation. As you mentioned in the video there are many smaller operations like this. I can see why there is so much interest by the members in building and maintaining this railroad. You can see by the operation and signal system it is both safe and realistic in running their trains. I hope they continue to operate for many years into the future.

I never heard about Train Mountain before but what a great idea it is. The size and scope of it was so beyond what I expected when you introduced it and I admire all the work that went into creating it.

Big children follow their dreams. Driving the real thing is better. It is an astonishing accomplishment and very well done! I admire the kind of detail they put in their railroad.

Keep up the good work and thank you for sharing.
