I started using the multi chuck a few years ago and had to replace it once so far. Like you said, too much wood dust built up and my little teeth got so stuck that it didn't close or open anymore. I temporarily fixed it by cleaning and with some WD40, but it only lasted a little while longer. That said, I just fasten the burr in my chuck with my hands (tight is tight) and I have never once had a burr fly out. ;)

Hi Matt! Personally, I've never had a jammed burr inside, and for the dust from vertically hitting my furniture and its on a horizontal surface! The only thing I would complain about a little, and this is not the fault of the chuck, but of my 50% muscle loss, is that I still have to take pliers to tighten the collar! We notice that the sound of the Dremel is not usual when the burr is loose!

I use the multichuck as well. I have experienced some chatter, so thanks for the heads up. Is that a 3/8" spanner you used? I made a "bit caddy" for 12 bits and a magnet inset to hold that tiny, very flat Dremel spanner. Won't let me share a pic. I'll only add that from my perspective, using the spanner on the multichuck is NOT a choice; it's a requirement. Thanks again for the informative video.

They could solve that collet issue by making the shafts all the same size. It’s like screws and mm vs fractions. Sheesh lest have a standard size that works. Greta tips

I love the convenience of the multi-chuck. I have broken one, but like you said, I got about a year out of it before that happened. I just switched back to using collets for a bit, n then my flex shaft quit working. I must be hard on tools.😅 Had to replace the flex shaft, but eventually my poor old dremel gave out, so just replaced the lot, n now have a few spare parts on hand.

I clean mine out by removing the bit, then tightening it way down, then tapping out the gunk. Seems to squeeze the stuff into smaller pieces which fall out easier when you open it back up.

So here's my situation. I live in Sweden which limits which burrs are available. I want one more coarse (idealy extreme) and one fine burr. In an ideal world id get the extreme flame burr and the fine tapered burr (the 7/8 head length one). Neither of those are available in Sweden.
My alternatives for fine burrs are the fine ball nose burr.
For coarse burrs I can get the Extreme Tungsten Carbide Spherical burr, the Extreme Tapered burr with 7/8 head length, the Extreme Tapered burr with 1/2 head length, the Extreme Cylinder burr, dremels MAX Power flame burr or I can get the flame burr but with only the standard coarsness.
I just wonder what you think of the fine ball nose burr and if you have any suggestions of which coarse burr I should go for?
