This week we review how I organize and distribute my paycheck using the YNAB app.

This is the last time you’ll likely see this type of budgeting. I’ve started using a new method and budgeting platform, stay tuned next week.

The lashes and rent the runway aren't gone forever! It's only temporary until you are in a better position to pay for those kinds of 'extras'. Great video.

I love your perspective as it’s very unique to the finance community: someone who values appearance maintenance while also needing to face the reality of cutting spending to make a budget work. Cutting out rent the runway was a huge step and it shows you’re on a path to creating solutions and making sacrifices. I also like how you acknowledged the feedback you got in a non-defensive way.

IM SO PROUD OF YOU FOR CANCELING YOUR CLOTHING RENTAL SUBSCRIPTION ❤️❤️❤️ That really shows personal growth and a commitment to change. Spending habits really change when you consider the future wealth and security you are sacrificing.

I have a friend that lives in a four million dollar home in Park City Utah, and she does her own nails, and they rarely go out to dinner.

You should be very proud of yourself. This takes most people years to figure out and you’re really making amazing progress so quickly. I think you’re really good at challenging yourself and will turn all of these questions into a challenge. Like what if you take half of your Rent the Runway budget and allocate that to one piece of new clothing each season? Something classic you can have forever? And think about how you gave up alcohol… perhaps you will challenge yourself to cut back on coffee the same way.

As far as dog treats, I was spending a lot here too and then my dog had some allergies and I had to change it up. I learned that he absolutely loves scraps of apple and lettuce, even ice cubes are a treat for him. All the best to you and thanks for sharing this journey. You are a natural on screen and at video making.

You’re literally strides beyond where your first video was. The mentality shift is continuing and the budget will catch up soon. Way to go!!!

My situation is so different than yours, but I still find your content extremely relatable and motivating. I am cheering you on!

Rooting for you. Leaving a comment to support.

For pet supplies- buying in bulk and portioning it out does really cut down on expenses. You’ll be tight that first month or two but after that you can allocate that money to other goals.

This is honestly really confusing (in a good way!) to me.

I am the complete opposite of you in almost every way yet I relate to your content on a level that is totally new.

I think your honesty and vulnerability is refreshing and it’s something I want to be better at when friends/family question my spending 😂

Personal finances is a journey of self discovery and the prioritizing, sacrificing and creativity that comes along with it is the absolute best part! You learn so much about yourself.

I am cheering you on from the UK and I can’t wait to be even more baffled yet inspired by your next video 😊

I think you’re doing great considering you’re new to this! Like Dave Ramsey says, “baby steps.” It takes time to change learned behavior but I admire your openness and transparency!

So many people aren't willing to make sacrifices, it's encouraging to see that you are!

For me, budgeting has really helped me see what I value, because that's where I WANT my money to go. And, it's been an evolution, my budget has changed plenty over the last few years.

@dbalemon - I'm sure you will get plenty more comments on what else you should cut so, like some of the others, I would just like to congratulate you on taking these steps. Not to mention continuing to make all of this public! How brave of you, great job. I'm sure as you keep going and you start to build up more confidence while on your journey you'll naturally come to realize more things you can do without/really don't need ("confidence" hint, hint 😉). I will say though, that for anything that really makes you happy, don't cut, just figure out how you can afford it. Keep up the great work 🙂

It's really cool/encouraging to see you adjust things based on the comments your getting! (especially the rent the runway! the first time I saw the other video that was something that sent off a flag 😂)

Botox is the one thing I not give up! Just found out about Dysport this month and have cut my Botox bill in HALF! Had no idea this brand was a cheaper alternative and it has saved my wallet.

You’re headed in the right direction. Botox isn’t a need, but you’ll get there!

I love how raw and real you are. Because changing is not easy. And that it's okay to take things in and move along. love from 🇵🇭

It can take time to adjust to changing your budget especially when you don't want to change certain things that are important to you but not financially viable at the moment. You have done great to cancel some things like rent the runway. I'm sure you have a wardrobe full of clothes that you can mix and match and make a new outfit out off. I have the same problem with spending on things on don't need so I'm doing lots of adjusting at the moment. Looking forward to seeing you over the next few months how you can save money while still living the lifestyle you love. I see it as a challenge and I'm enjoying it. Hopefully you will as well 💗

Good job, it takes baby steps. Sometimes if you tell yourself the cutting out something for 6 months (ie rent the runway) by the time 6 months is up you don't want it any more. I'm on a bare bones budget for 6 months (newly single) then I'll add a few things back but focusing on my emergency fund first.
