Why would people want to achieve their OKRs if it is not linked to compensation?

Hi Bernard, thank you for this helpful video. You mentioned that the key difference between MBO and OKR is that the latter defines what you want to achieve and how you want to achieve a goal. But MBO's have Action Plans which helps those who use this strategy to figure out how they're going to achieve the targets. So doesn't this make both strategies similar? Please clarify.
