@Gnomefro Haha, you are so right. Although sacrifice would be taking it a bit far, but if christians can have there ritual why shouldn't ever other religion get have theirs too?
It is such a double standard, could you imagine the headlines if there was a muslim prayerat a graduation in a public school?

cont. You are free to pray during the moment of silence, before or after the graduation. A democracy does not mean that the majority can force there point of view on the minority.

@ybra "And this is why a lead prayer at a public school graduation is unconstitutional, but that does not stop any individuals to pray."

Whenever someone attempts to do this, atheists should answer by bringing in a chicken and sacrificing it in some obscure religious ritual front of everyone while they are praying. Religious animal sacrifice is actually protected by the first amendment and such demonstrations will immediately hammer in the value of separation of church and state in the audience

I also have to add that the US constitution make it clear that the government can't endorse one religion over another. And I would have thought that you would agree that this is a good idea? Because if the they where to endorse one religion chances are that it wont be your particular flavor of religion.

And this is why a lead prayer at a public school graduation is unconstitutional, but that does not stop any individuals to pray.

If religious people want to keep their faiths to themselves, I have no problem with that. In the case of people like Michael Stahl however, atheists do have a right to defend themselves. Michael Stahl is the Florida pastor who is blacklisting all atheists as rapists, murderers, thieves, and racists.
But how many people were murdered in the name of god? How many crosses were burned by the hate groups? And how many "ethnic clensings" were ordered by "God"?
We only defend ourselves when attacked.

I hope you didn't take any of my comments as bullying because that was not what I intended. And i have to problem with you having a religion and practicing it, in fact i support your right to do so.

But i wanna make a comment on the graduation prayer you mentioned. A lead prayer at a school is a violation of the governments authority, as it is endorsing one religion over another. To not have a lead prayer at the graduation does not stop anyone from praying.

And why r u censoring ur comments? It is mostly Theists who do this out of cowardice and dishonesty. This is also what causes such animosity!

You misunderstand popular soverienty as the ability to take away the rights of the few.

Are you serious? Without these rights, minorities would be be nearly nonexistant; you even seem to be advocating that seapking up for our rights is somehow wrong.

Atheism is not a belief... It is a lack thereof. I am as sure that there is not a God as I am of Nessie. I would like to see either proven, but so far no luck.

I only criticize ideas, not people.
