It gave me a good chuckle when I noticed that.

You missed the most important one. If you want a tracker, you're better off getting AirTags and buying even a cheap iPhone to use together with your Android phone. Why? - Because any person with an Apple device, be it an ipad, iphone, macbook etc act as a beacon. So even if someone with an iPhone walks past your item, you will be notified that the item is found with a location - unlike Tile that needs the app to be installed and running.

The user base is so huge that you are way more likely to find your item than with tile, which has a tiny user base by comparison.

I may have missed it in the video, but I have heard that tile only tracks if other people have the tile app and the setting enabled near them. Which is why I have been super hesitant to get them or recommend them to friends.

The one thing that makes an AirTag more suitable for locating stolen bikes, cars, motorcycles etc, is to remove the sounder, ( very simple, loads of youtube videos ) where the thief, when notified on their iPhone ( if they have one) that they are being followed by an AirTag, cam't make the tone sound and very quickly locate a hiden device and disable it, so giving you valuable time to find your property.

I’ve owned multiple Tile tracker’s. Bought them before switching to iPhone. My two biggest complaints. Sometimes their little alarms don’t work. Two have this issue. The second is when they’re in your pocket. Turn the wrong way. Try to pull your keys out of your pocket. The tile gets squeezed and you activate the tile it self. Which is annoying as hell.

Edit: My recent issue with Tile is customer support. I have a Tile that the alarm doesn’t work well on. You can barely hear the tone. Emailed them and it seems as the email goes to multiple people. Every response was to or from a different person.
My other issue is the batteries. The app use to set off an alert when the battery was in need of replacing. I have a couple go dead with no warning. Guess I need to to check them once and awhile.

I would argue that the main problem of Tile is that it requires the app installed and "Allow all the time" location permission to work properly. On iPhone, even when I allow access to the location at any time, the IOS changes it back to "when the app is in use". It causes me problems because the OS disables the ability to track my stuff. I don't have that problem with my Pixel (Android), but still, most of the people in the US (including its territories) are iPhone users.

I've had several Tiles and they work fine. I have two (2) on my dogs collars, one in my wallet and one in my wifes purse. I'm a Apple computer owner since Apple came out with the Macintosh in 1984. BUT, I prefer Samsung phones. So far 'Tile' has been working just fine for me.

Super helpful thanks! Only thing I would have added as a major benefit of Tile over AirTags is that they have Tile stickers as well (which I didn’t know)! In okras I misunderstood, being able to just stick on a tile tracking sticker to a devise seems like a major vote for Android tile!! That and the significant differences in tracking by distance.

I’ve always and forever been an Apple user but there’s a lot Apple is doing wrong and I’m seriously considering of giving up my Apple addiction and giving android a whirl.

Hi, I like how you did your video, it was easy to understand, and informative. However, I think it would’ve been good. If you could have gone over how the two devices refresh their locations, and whether or not, they are able to give you updated locations. I only have experience with the Apple AirTags, and I find that there are quite a bit of times where the Apple device does not seem to be updating its location very often.

The # 1 advantage you fail to mention is Anit-Thef Mode. It makes the tracker undetectable by theft. A Airtag will play a sound and notify the theft that its being tracked. So if you looking at theft prevention Tile is the way to go.

You can press the button on the tile to call your phone, which I like because that feature serves as a duo/two way tracking. Is there a button or feature with AirTags that you can use to call your phone if you can’t find it?
