Actually, that’s not right for watering succulents and cacti you need to wet the soil around the cacti/succulent but if the cacti or succulent get wet it can cause rot

One thing to take into consideration here, firstly i wouldnt tip the pot up like this anyway but if you mist or wet the actual cactus, you dont want to do this then put it straight into intense sunlight, it will burn it and raise the humidity very high which could lead to rot, its always best to water in the morning to give it the best chance to evaporate off while not in the most intense light and heat

You can just bottom watering, let it suck all the water needed then let it dry itself. Imagine do this and the soil fall into the water.

Your soil is all wrong. Cacti like to grow in mostly pumice, expanded shale, lava rock or turface. Some cacti rather be planted in nothing but drainage rock. Like lophs and copiapoa species

As cautious as I am about my cacti and succulents, they wouldn't survive that type of watering. I trust you know what you're doing. Just be careful. With succulents in general, when it comes to watering, easy does it. Same for fertilizing, go for 1/2 strength just to be safe!

Water from the top. With this method, no matter how fun it may seem, you lose soil & if there was any top dressing, that was lost too!! If you do this dunk method, pretty soon there will be no soil left. Note all the soil you lost in the water when you did this. Not good.... fun maybe, not good.

That poor cactus (the one closest to the camera) is so unstable in its pot. All that water trapped in its fuzzy outside can also breed a fungus infection. Yikes.
