The "make me feel safe" line has been used so much with me that i see it as a red flag now.

Don't get me wrong, being around someone who makes you feel safe (physically and emotionally) is great.

But for some reason when I've had women say this to me (you make me feel safe) the relationship has always ended in an opposite state.

Almost like...they can't feel safe without me constantly "giving" them that. I'm not sure how else to explain it.

Maybe it's just me but it makes me feel like they don't know how to be complete without a man in their life "filling their holes".

Emotionally. Filling their holes emotionally. You sickos.

"So that's all I want, protect me, make me feel safe" The only one who has power over your feelings is you, and unless you exercise that control, nothing anyone else could ever do will be enough. To try and make your own inner world someone elses responsibility can only ever end in failure.

If you have a low sex drive or can control it or if you've aged a bit into your 30s or more probably your 40s, and you've been around and seen some things and been through some things....a woman's main selling point (physical intimacy) loses it's power and you realize that everything else one does or is expected to do in a "relationship" is pretty much to secure the physical intimacy. Life without female companionship is really only frustrating or a source of angst or longing if you are still longing for them. Once that naturally dissipates a bit with time and experience, it really isn't an issue to deal with anymore.
