Improve Your English Vocabulary (Synonyms!) #shorts

The reason why many students think their English is bad, is because they use simple vocabulary all the time! For example, if you want to describe something positively, you would use adjectives such as "Nice, Good", or negatively using adjectives such as "Bad". In this short lesson, you will learn some alternatives to simple adjectives.

Improving your English vocabulary is the first step in improving your overall English level. Substituting simple words would make you sound more professional and advanced while trying to communicate in English.

Cheers!

I'm a native English speaker and I've never heard anyone say 'diverting' to mean funny (though according to the dictionary it can mean that). Most native speakers will assume it means 'distracting'.

I have a bit of advice for learners as a native English speaker from the US: people who use fancy words just to sound smarter often come off as a jerk/know-it-all. This isn’t to say to not use more complex vocabulary, as sometimes if you’re at a formal occasion (e.g.: a job interview, a fancy dinner party, etc.). But the main thing is that when you’re around friends or in a casual setting, sticking to layman’s terms, words that everyone would know, is ideal.

As a non-native English speaker: most people don’t use big words. Just stick to the words you know honestly
