Fun fact: the "advanced" words are to be used in writings only, be it in school or work...use them in casual conversation and people will give you a weird look

As someone who speaks fluent English, a normal conversation is definitely ‘What I obtained was adequate, conversely my colleague wished to substantiate that it was detrimental, subsequently I informed him that he did not possess anything less ubiquitous due to his being antidisestablishmentarianism’

Very normal

It's an adequate thing to posses something useful. Subsequently, you'll get far in life by doing that. Conversely, don't go down the detrimental path to obtain a life you'll never have.

As an American I can tell you we don’t say those words often. We only use them to impress bosses and English teachers in an essay or repot

"adequate" does not have the same meaning as "good" - at least not in the US. When people use the word " adequate", it's meant to say "good enough". That is, it meets the minimum standards but it does not go above and beyond.

“Adequate” doesn’t really mean good, it means more “up to standard”.

As a native English speaker, I would like to clarify that pretty much no one uses these in casual, or any for that matter, conversation. Except for maybe obtain or possess every so often.

As a native english speaker I would never say ‘adequate’ as ‘good.’ Adequate is more ‘satisfactory’ in meaning.

If I told my mom her meatloaf was adequate, I think I'd really hurt her feelings. Her meatloaf is good!

If I told my parents I got good grades, they'd think I got As. Cs are adequate.

If I got a good job review, I'd expect a raise. If I got an "adequate" job review, I'd start looking through the want ads.

Good and adequate don't mean the same thing. Adequate means something meets but does not exceed the requirements. Good means it exceeds the requirements.
