Seems Tarisland might be trying to get by on their own technicality, but most people I talked to seem to dub it the result as pay to win. What about you?

Anything that allows you to buy a way to progress faster then others its 1000% Pay 2 win.. anyone who says its not p2w is dumb.

and yes they are selling player power even if u cant buy it directly u can still buy gold with money which gives u the ability to buy said power from the trade market.


Gold needs to be removed from the game and the battlepass needs to be redone so it dues not give anything that gives gold/rep/bags/mount(if they have special perks) such as flying mounts.

1:55 - Currently nope. We just beat the first raid available in CBT1, it drops a purple weapon - has NO impact on your appearance, like every other weapon/armor in the game.. Pretty sure NOTHING changes your armor/weapon appearance unless you shell our cold hard cash. They are legit that greedy. .. You can get some silly icons over your head for free, thats it so far. Also: You can buy DIRECTLY buy power with the crystal - You can buy a mount with a pay to win skill that is quite strong in pvp battlegrounds because unlike the free rhino mount - its's skill boosts your entire teams speed.
And a technically to have to take 1 extra step to convert your premium currency to another still mostly premium currency is hardly anything that justifies there boldface lice. Neverwinter did this concept first, and while it wasnt ULTRA P2W at launch, it certainly was designed to be pay to win, and it quickly progress into that, to the point players starting have to spend between $1000 to $50, 000 USD a month to remain competitive in pvp. And perfect world/cryptic never made a bold face like that the game wasn't, just they ignored all concerns players brought up about there monetization model forever, and only further made it pay to win more and more over time tell the game completely lost all it's joy, charm and soul.. Same as Tencent will with this game.

That said, due to the nature of players having to actually put stuff up on the auction house to sell you for gold, and most gear being bound on equip.. The most hardcore players who gather all the gear quickly anyways will be winning at least the first month or so of the game, even with minimal spend like just buying the battle pass ($30 usd, you didnt show it, its another pay to win aspect in addition to the CBT benefits pass, basically you will need botht to remain competitive in the long run. (And God knows how many "passes they will have on launch.)

Charge as much as you want for cosmetics, personally I don't care. But the benefits card, these are the systems I don't like in my mmo.

It feels like Zzav is cursed, first Archeage and now this. Every game starts off nice and it turns into a microtransaction hell hole. MMORPG's are doomed

Not only is it completely p2w but it's CRAZY expensive (talking cosmetics). Almost $40 for a flying mount... WTF?! Who can afford this shit nowadays? Am I the only one stuggling financially?! Just a matter of time before the whales start feelin less abundant, and these types of games fail miserably.

I had the chance to play the game and it is bad compared to the upcoming competitors,
It is just good to fill the void before the release of 1) Throne and Liberty 2) Ghost [Ghost Crawlers MMO] 3) Ashes of Creation 4) Riot MMORPG.

Also lets not forget it has gender lock and its UI (awful in my opinion) is Mobile ported to PC.

If we compare season pass/benefits card with a subscription model...
WOW doesn't even let you level up above 15 without a subscription, then surly you not "competing" with any paid player in PvP or PVE or "crafting"😅
What if they said: Hey, we are a subscription P2P game, but instead of capping free trial at lv15(WOW), you can free trial the entire game for free with a -30% exp gain and -20% rep gain etc.
Will it be see as P2W then? Since we can trade WOW token for gold in WOW too, I would say this game seems as "P2W" at WOW? Maybe even less so?

you can only see the lowest price of items in auction. meanwhile there are 4000 CBT cards stuck on auction. i dint think any server has 4000 players with 4000 gold to buy all of those cards. theoritically it's a p2w, however it barely sells.

This game is basically an mobile mmo and main design is for mobile audience, pc is just side version, because its main design is for mobile this game cant even compete with pc mmo market since mobile have huge limitations compared to pc

It is up to the individual to decide whether it's pay 2 win or not for sure. And this shit is pay 2 win as hell. Decided by the individual. Pay 2 progress and pay 2 win are the same thing. Time is money, lets be real. If you are paying to advance faster than me to be able to farm better equipment for longer and faster, what the hell is the debate? Its paying money to win at the game.
