The "Power of Friendship" trope is only bad when it's being used as a cop out. DBZ and Naruto's messages are basically grounded in the friends and bonds they create along the adventure but they're not usually the thing that saves the plot. Even the Spirit Bomb, which is prolly the ultimate "my friends are my power" move rarely works in defeating anyone since it's literally like 2/6 in the show.

I read a manga back in the day that was an isekai where the MC and his bros get transported to another world. The MC has several girls after him, but he's fully aware and doesn't care about that and only wants to have fun adventures with his bros and forge stuff. He rejects them all in the end and, at one point, curses out, including backhanding the tsundere who hit his friend just because she got annoyed by their harmless jokes.
