Mineta is a modern example of why I hate the trope and especially the “fan art”, shame Sanji never got anything like that. They’re just there to say don’t try respect our female cast because the show won’t. I’d like the trope more if they were the playboy and actually had “relationships” then try to balance a harem and fall apart and reminding everyone if you can’t back it up don’t try.

Honestly the dumb MC trop has to be the worst to me. When the MC doesn't catch onto things that seem glaringly obvious, the attempted humor becomes a source of frustration for me instead.

Probably my biggest example is Tokyo Revengers. Though I won't go over all the specifics here, I did watch the first season of anime and some of the second because I loved the idea of the plot. I understood why Takemichi would cry and "be a bitch" as some people put it. I honestly didn't mind that. But when he was just ridiculously dense, I often had to put down the series for the rest of the day before coming back to the next episode.
