As Pokemon are canonically hyper violent monstrosities that literally get stronger by fighting and killing each other, to the point of outright evolving into a more advanced and stronger form. That is literally one of the main reasons why most Pokemon follow humans in lore, because they have help pokemon fight and get stronger more efficiently

As the many dark dex entries through all the generations are further confirmed this.

I like the dito one cuz we can see dito turning into many different Pokémon at once which I thought was really weird why dito wasn’t able to do that in the anime and it perfectly mimicked them
