The first result of the night is in - and it’s a win for Labour’s Bridget Phillipson in Houghton and Sunderland South.

It has been a strong Labour seat since its creation in 2012.

Phillipson won with 18,847 votes and could become education secretary - having had the brief in Keir Starmer’s shadow cabinet since November 2021.

Reform UK's Sam Woods-Brass beat the Conservatives into second place in the constituency.

51% turnout for Sunderland: FFS!
UK Democracy… that would be a good idea. Australia has 85% turnout because voting is compulsory & proudly joyfully exercised duty

Labour won't do the UK any good with their open border policy and their policy for the schools. Not much different to Conservatives.

What will labor do first? To get more money to spend on healthcare? Or to reform it to make it more efficient and productive?

I am not a British citizen yet so my opinion doesn't really matter in politics, but i worry things are only going to get worse because I watched and listened carefully when Mr Kier Stammer debated with Rishi, and the man couldn't give any practical solutions to the UK's major issues of inflation, immigration or even climate change or housing crisis 😢😢😢the future is still gray and gloom folks

Comforting, simple, real and direct, Bridget Phillipson's Speech takes us to the heart of the civilizing task of building a democratic society, in which human life has due support and comfort, so that everyone is given the opportunity to shine. No matter where you come from, or to which family you belong to, the Democratic State will make services, work and education available to everyone. And through education, learn that dialogue and joint effort leads to unity and hope; that division leads to decline; and that stability prevents chaos. 💞💕

DEHENA DAVISON just said that their failure as tories in this whipping is because of them forgetting who their opposition is. There fore its all about us versus them or whoever.
DAVISON MAY I TELL YOU WHAT IT IS??
