Here we are four years later and rim brakes are finished, 25C is ultra narrow, not the widest we'd recommend and the new version of this bike costs the same as a Trek 5200 with Dura Ace did in 2002.

I have the 2018 ALR 5 in Matte Metallic Charcoal. This bicycle is incredible, I almost bought the Cannondale CAAD12, which is a sweet bike, but the Emonda 5 was too good to pass on. Looking to pick up the 2019 for my wife because she is still on the starter bike that we both purchased for ourselves before my upgrade. Cant stand to see her left out of pleasure of riding this awesome bike. Good job Trek!

Got mine a couple weeks ago, 2019 model the day it came out. ALR 4 with Tiagra. Great bike. Love it. Several rides going into 100+kms. Comfortable, even for someone not as flexible as I am (35/m). The 25mm tires are pretty thick already, not sure if I'd want to put 28s in there. I have rim brake version (direct mount!)

Impressive. Hard to believe that they have engineered aluminum to compete with the lightness and stiffness of carbon.

It's mentioned that the Disc Brake version comes with larger tyre clearances, but later in the video it says maximum recommend size of 25c. What's the clearance on the Disc models actually like?

Hey trek, love your aluminium bikes. Was wondering if you would ever consider upgrading your emonda alr design in the bottom bracket area. Should consider the same construction method that Specialized has for their allez sprint bikes (bottom bracket shell - two huge hydroformed clamshell pieces are brazed together, to which the down tube, seat tube, and chainstays are welded, creating a BB shell more reminiscent of carbon fibre tube-and-lug construction than aluminium.) if you do that with your invisible weld method. That would make the emonda alr better than it is right now.
