Make sure your Direct TV Genie is set your TV Resolution Capacity, for best viewing possible.

1080I, 1080P are the best setting if the TV is capable.
Contact Direct TV to get 4K .

I did this but it's still stuck on 480i does changed to the higher ones

Why when I put a check mark on 1080p does it still only allow me to select 1080i when I start viewing programs and hit the Info button and cycle through the different resolutions? Even the programs that show 1080p on the guide only allow me to select up to 1080i. I have the C41-100 Client/ Access point or whatever the devices that are not the Genie are called.

There are no check boxes to select resolution. When I pick one, a tv screen appears in the upper left hand corner. Then what do I do?

My TV goes to its default settings every time I turn the TV off is there a way to save it that way I don't have to keep setting it up every time I turn it back on ?

It seems like, whenever DirectTV DVR boxes malfunction, they take the entire HD television set down with them.

Unless DirectTV has it in writing that they will replace all television units that no longer power on, after being connected to their DVR, I will never take the risk of signing up with DirectTV, ever again! Now, I'm concerned about the cost of having to replace my privately-owned, really expensive, large-screen, high-definition, television units. It seems like the cost of DirectTV is WAY more than what they bill us for.
