I am considering "upgrading" the std box I have to HD and see they are on ebay. Can I buy one of those HD 25-500 and get it to work? Or do I need to register the HD with DirecTV and pay the $10 to get programs? I already have a subscription which includes one HD and a DVR as part of our 3 rooms of connection from 4 yrs ago and I pay monthly for these.

I don't have an HDMI cable for my HDTV!! I don't know how many times I have to say it but I do not have one. I have a red white and yellow cable. How do I get this to work?? The cables are properly hooked up but there is nothing showing on my TV even though it is on. I have tried every single channel on my TV and every output and nothing and yes the direct TV box is also turned on.
