WATCH THIS BEFORE YOU START LIGHT SHORE JIGGING
Light shore jigging is something that should be popular all over the world - surprisingly, it isn't.
I know a lot of people want to get into it but even in this day and age there's hardly proper information available to those that know nothing of it - often times, it is these guys that get victimized by unscrupulous sales men that want to earn a quick buck...I hope this video at the very least gives you guys - the perspective light slow jiggers, an insight to what you need and what you don't need so when you go to the shop to check things out, you already know what to look for.

Just found your channel kit. Outstanding content with emphasis on practical application for beginners and experts. I only SW fish for 3 months in winter vacationing in FL Tampa Bay area. I am land based mainly piers and beach. I want to purchase one of the two rods discussed in your presentation with import via Japan. I DO WADE into the surf to access the fishable structure often and get the reel plashed/dunked. With that in mind I prefer a totally sealed reel. Unfortunately, they are heavy - Tsunami SaltX II 3000 with 11.8 OZ is my choice. Most likely a balancing issue. I would appreciate your Input please. Bait size is between 2 and 5 inches. Target species snappers. Spanish Macharel etc. Occasionally larger Pelagic Species.

Thanks for new video Kit!
What type of knot you prefer to connect leader and jig or leader and lure?

Hey kit, great video as always. It was perfect timing for me as I’m actually planning on building a LSJ setup at the moment. Have you used both the 1G and 5G crossride? Is the 5G worth the extra money? I’m looking forward to your upcoming video’s out on the water, I’m sure I’ll learn even more!

very brave to have line connection knot spooled on reel. More often than not, i forget after reeling fish to release fluorocarbon from reel and reel it back loosely, cuz it is prone of tangling, especially thinner ones. Good thing to point out for new guys

Hey Kit, I live in the states and recently purchased a major craft crossride 10ft LSJ rod which is getting imported from Japan.

The shimano reels you use are either discontinued or a slightly different version here in the states, since you are in the UAE.

I have 3 option in mind for reels:
1. VF4000XGF (7.6oz/215gram)
2 VF4000XGA (7.6oz/215gram)
3. ST4000XGFM (9.7oz/275gram)

Out of those 3 listed above is there one you would prefer?

Thanks for all your videos. You are a great teacher with a lot of knowledge!

Hi kit, i have a rod thats 240cm. How does a shorter rod affect the action of the jig? Do you think its too short? It is specifically a shore jigging rod. Reason why i asked is, i have fished for Months but only got a handfull of fish, 95%+ i go home without anything.

Hi kit, what about using shorter leader like 4-6 ft combine with low visibility braid color? I think it needs to be considered. So it might be possible to reduce the impact of the ring guide with the braid+leader knot. Apart from that, we also use a fishing rod that is long enough to allow that to be done

Ok. Can I use the same rod and reell for slow and fast jig in the same or similar lure weight ?

Great video for experienced and newbie anglers alike. I bought a Majorcraft Solpara 9’6 MH Rod for my first shore jigging Rod but I’ve been using a 5000 stradic with PE 1.2 on it. Is that reel too big for that Rod?

Hi
I’m new to light shore jigging.
I happen to have a Shimano Spheros 3000xg that I use for squid and planning to use it for LSG. Do you think that the Shimano Moon Shot rod s96m is good combination with named reel for this tipe of fishing? If not what rod do you suggest with the 3000 reel?
Planning to use Pe 1.2 line
Thanks

Hi there! How strong or resistant do you find the crossride ml (since the blank doesn't have a varnish coat)? Im considering to get one but Im a little bit affraid of going to the rocks with it. Thanks in advance!

Instead of jigging can I fish top water lures like pencils and spinners with an lsj rod?

How much line would you recommend is needed for this type of setup? I live in North America and the reel selection is very different compared to JDM models. We have a lot of deep spool spinning reels that have additional capacity. Wonder if a 2500D (300m capacity at PE #1) would be suitable even though you mentioned 4000-5000 reels.

I currently have a Daiwa Over There 103M (Length: 3.12m, Lure: 10-50g) on the way.
