In 16 years I've never dealt with a guitar salesman this good

That SG was actually a dragon disguised as a guitar. Holy smokes that thing just spit fire.

Rhett, just wanted to let you know that my eyeballs and brain really appreciate your editing. The fact that you don't have a jump cut after every line of dialog is pretty swell in this day and age. Keep up the good work.

As a builder for decades, I've come to appreciate that there is no such thing as a "perfect" guitar. Granted there are very good ones, but none is all what suits you best and you get accustomed to.

As someone who thinks sg are uncool, that is a cool sg.

I ran into Rhett at Righteous before he filmed this vid with Ben! Nice guy! Also, Ben is the man and helped me find a dreamboat PRS 57/08 Custom 24 a few years ago.

I was working remotely from home one week about 18 years ago and to break the monotony of my day behind my desk, I walked into my neighborhood GC just to kill time...and there tucked away in the used guitar section was the ugliest Gibson Les Paul Custom I had ever seen. Obviously someone's work horse but cosmetically beat to shit. It was a pancake body Norlin era custom probably about mid seventies no serial number cherry burst with the finish absolutely sanded off of the top. I took it home and plugged it into a Marshall JTM 60 and it screamed....it inspired me to play more and I couldn't put it down. Best sounding Les Paul I've ever had and I've had about 7 at this point. I stole it from GC as far as I was concerned 1K with case included. Changed my life as a musician and I still have it today.

As a working music shop guy, I agree with all that your music shop guy said

I'm more impressed with the guy, he knows a lot. Good to have someone like him in store.

Little late to the party,

I own my dream guitar. A worn out Gibson Epiphone left to me by my grandfather. Its not the guitar I would buy, but it is definitely the guitar I will never sell. I sit around and play old George Jones songs and think of my Papa.

I just recently purchased my dream guitar. I’m always very fond of boutique guitars, especially since I started watching you like 3 years ago. Issue is I never had the money to get one for myself. Took a really long process of saving up and looking for the perfect one for me.

After I saved up enough money for a higher end guitar I went to my local shop here in Melbourne, Australia, I saw this German boutique brand called Maybach with it’s JM model. Oh mate, I fell in love when I tried the fat C shape neck, and the sound of the PAF pickups😭 money really spent well and it’s best purchase I made in 2021. I even came back to this video just to share this story😂

@17:34 the desire for the SG is so strong!
I got a Gibson SG 2019 Original in Aged Cherry, and that guitar is my baby. Nice dark color with visible wood grains and plays like a dream.

This video is about customer service, the depth of knowledge of the shop owner. There's nothing like walking into a shop and having them know you, having them not try to sell you something that isn't 'you'. Great video Rhett. Now following Righteous Guitars across all social media.

I just bought my own first acoustic and my biggest beginner tip apart from budget is: bring time with you and stay open to the entire learning experience. And don't bring people who interfere with your guitar-finding process. Choose supportive people.

No amount of online research will give you the real-life connection with the instrument. If you meet musicians with more experience and you get to chat: ask them about their approach to get inspired.

And I really loved the tip of you guys to just strum the guitar/ring the strings and listen to its basic sound before you add anything else.

I always thought the tone of an SG was great. Everyone loves the Les Paul, which is a beautiful guitar but the light body and tone of the SG is stellar.

Huge point: The better an electric guitar sounds unplugged, the easier it will be to bring that
guitar to life when plugged in. Absolutely true. Jack Pearson (great Nashville sideman and one-
time Allman Brothers member) will not buy a guitar that does not resonate well unplugged. In my
own experience I've found that to definitely be the case. Next is how it feels to you when playing.
It's like a pair of shoes. No matter how beautiful they are, how expensive, or what the brand name
is, if they don't fit right you won't wear them because they aren't comfortable. And who wants that?
