The BEST Beginner Guitar

As a beginner guitarist, picking the right guitar is an extremely important part of improving quickly, and enjoying the process. But how do you pick the right one, how much should you spend, what colour should it be?

All valid questions. And in this video I hope to answer them. We'll break down what makes the best acoustic and electric guitars for beginners, and which one fits you. And good news, if you're an intermediate or even an advanced guitarist looking to upgrade, it all still applies.

My first guitar was €50, - and it was a classical guitar. Learned a lot on that one. About 13 years later and now I have 7 different ones 😅

I’d recommend either the Yamaha Pacifica 112V or the 112J. Both great guitars (and surprisingly versatile) but the 112V is a bit more expensive due to better tone and volume knobs and slightly better sounding pickups. It also has a coil tap option so you could get a single coil at the bridge. If you’re looking for a budget HSS strat you can’t go wrong with a Pacifica. (Plus they look cool which is probably the most important quality of a guitar to anybody.) Wouldn’t recommend the 012. It’s good for its price but it won’t last you a long time. The tuners aren’t great so there’s no point in using the tremolo arm. Plus the pickups are different and a bit worse.

My first guitar is a strat and im so happy i got it, 3 single coil is very versatile : rock, blue, neo-soul, r&b, .... strat can play very well
