Apple has a big problem with the iPhone 14; it's too good and too bad. The iPhone 14 and 14 Plus are struggling to sell, while the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max are too popular. Apple can't make them fast enough. And as the iPhone 15 begins to take shape, many are curious as to how this rough start will change the 2023 iPhone lineup. Let's talk about how Apple can dominate the smartphone landscape next year and how the iPhone 15 can be better than ever, but only if Apple can pull off some major changes.

I really think that if apple just put the dynamic island to iphone 14 and 14 plus, it will sell well. Nobody wants to buy a brand new phone thats more expensive but just looks like the previous gen.

I have a 13 Mini and I have absolutely NO plans to change phones anytime soon. I simply love the Mini. Given their disaster with the 14, not to mention the iPad X, I think Apple needs a house cleaning at the top.

There are people who focus on price, people who focus on features, and people who want the top of the line as a status feature .

Am glad some of the designers left in the last 7 years, not a single person is complaining about the current brick 🧱 design of Apple, they can’t sell enough of the Pros that never happened before the 12 pro redesigns, hands down Apple is the most popular device around these days. I hope the 15 keeps most of the Design aspect of the 14 pros.

Biggest problem I have is the upgrade process. I was told I would get 700 for my 11 when I "traded" it in. It appears I got 150. I had this happen last time in a smaller scale. My 11 was kept in an Otter box case and carefully taken care of. 98% battery life and a tiny scratch on the screen protector only. As a former federal fraud investigator, I can't imagine this is not the norm and perhaps a class action law suit is needed. As I'm now retired, maybe this is the hobby I was looking for.

Exactly, tac. Lower the prices on the 14 and the 14 Plus - then they would sell. Only release one new iPhone lineup a year. Apple released the 13 lineup and the 14 lineup too close together.

Thanks for the info, tac.

It's a combination of not enough new features (which is a problem every phone maker currently has), a global economy crisis, inflation and Apple's ridiculous pricing.
I live in Europe. The iPhone 14 Pro Max with 256GB will set you back 1600 euros here. What average consumer is going to buy that amidst an energy/heating crisis? Y'all in the US probably don't know just how expensive iPhones are for the rest of the world. I would kill for 999$.

If you all would have been paying attention, the 3nm process is in wait state until the graphics processor redesign is finished. However, they needed something to sell, life goes on, so they cobbled together a 5nm fixer for this year.

I would like to see Apple design its own battery case like they did with the Xr. Battery life is the top most important feature for me, with this device that knows my entire life.

iPhone Pro Mini.

The biggest consideration I always had was deciding between the Pro and the Mini. The Max (or Plus or Pro Max) was too big for my hands, especially to use just one-handed. The base iPhone was never interesting to me. But the smaller size of the mini meant more portability, especially in a small purse or pocket.

I’d never choose it, because the camera mattered to me most of all and the Pro always had better cameras, but that’s just it. People with smaller hands (many of us are women) get insulted when the smaller model has less features than its big sibling. Despite the fact the iPhone has grown enormously over the last decade, Apple never even tried putting out a full-featured Pro phone that was also smaller than its flagship.

I know the battery life to screen size is less optimal, but I’d be willing to take a fake bit more thickness (like 1-2mm more) at a smaller screen size to compensate.

I get a bigger phone chassis allows more space to play and a bigger battery and more room for ram, but assuming people want to or can handle a larger device to get all the best features is just unfair.

Also, I’d be fine with an aluminum frame to save weight on my imaginary Pro Mini especially if it gets thicker. The iPhone has been getting heavier and heavier too and it’s a little excessive especially when the Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes in so much lighter AND has a hinge.

The prices of these phones in my country are crazy I've never seen anything like this before

The I phone 14 base model is just an exact copy of the iPhone 13. There is just not enough new features. So what I think is- the I phone 14 pro should become the iPhone 14 and they should make an even better phone for the pro. Whilst keeping the pro at the same price and the base model too. At this point it's just not worth even thinking about getting an iPhone 14. It makes sense everyone is going for the 14 pro.

Apple is also competing with the use iPhone market. A 256G iPhone 13 Pro Max in excellent rated condition costs $760 now which is a more desirable and less expensive phone compared to the iPhone 14 Max with 256G of storage which will set one back $999.

In a recession lower cost would go a long way I think

Price problem I guess is what’s hounding the regular 14’s specially outside of the US.

As an ardent Apple consumer and fan, I was miffed when Apple started raising their prices! I do not begrudge them their success and their desire to make a profit but there are limits to greed and I reached my limit by not ever buying an iPhone Pro model as a form of protest and the desire to not pay the exorbitant prices that Apple demands. I am very happy to have last year’s “latest advances” As the most successful company with the largest stash sequestered I do not know where, there should be some self-awareness on Apple‘s part! Steve did not take it with him and neither will Tim or anybody else for that matter! I wish they’d understand that and become more grounded!

Well pricing is one important factor that needs to be reduced (since prices of the iPhone 14 models skyrocketed compared to previous models), proper functionality and specs are another thing to be considered. I have felt there is just too much heat which also damages battery. I should say that if people are going on apps which cause their phones to get all heated up, then maybe a small fan or two can help a bit in preventing heat from damaging the battery. It’s not like a software is supposed to be put just to literally damage a phone. Regulating temperature is a big factor to make a phone work properly. Be it a tablet too.

I personally think that the iPhone 15 regular will be a minor upgrade from the 14 Pro, and there will be a new 15 Ultra with a rugged design with extremelt good performace

I’d want any Ultra features, but I’m not battling trying to use such an unwieldy size if it is only available in ‘Max’ sizing.

I think that the regular iPhone 15 should cost around 550$-650$ and the pro 799$ and the ultra 999$
