Apple has some new colorways up its sleeve for the forthcoming iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, according to 9 to 5 Mac.

The publication had previously reported that Apple has created a “crimson” color exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro, as the Pro series offers a special color each year with last year’s installment coming in deep purple and space black colors.

A new, second source on Weibo, which accurately predicted last year’s colorways, has shared that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will come in a new green color, per a post viewed by 9 to 5 Mac.

The green was described as “close to the green of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 11,” which were a mint green shade. The color didn’t make a return in the iPhone 13 rolled out.

Apple is planning a new dark red color option as this year’s “exclusive” iPhone 15 Pro color. Now, a second source corroborates these plans in a new post on Weibo. The source also adds that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will be available in a new green color option.

The new source describes the iPhone 15 Pro color as being a “crimson” shade. “It may be a little lighter” than the iPhone 14 Pro’s deep purple color, but “still very deep,” the account explains.

Apple is currently in the process of readying the iPhone 15 lineup for launch this fall. Based on display supply chain analysis, Apple appears to be gearing up for especially strong demand this year.

According to new research published by DSCC, iPhone 15 panel orders during June 2023 are “expected to be 100% higher” than iPhone 14 panel orders during the same period a year ago. If nothing else, that’s a positive sign for supply this year and the capacity to build new iPhones ahead of launch compared to a year ago.

“With the current mix of panel shipments for the iPhone 15 series, the Pro models account for a 58% share versus a 43% share for the iPhone 14 Pro models during the June – July period,” reports DSCC. During June, DSCC is also seeing a 22% fall in iPhone 14 series panel shipments compared to iPhone 13 series panel shipments year-over-year.

Apple prides itself on offering all-day battery life for its devices, including its flagship item, the iPhone. While the storage improvements in the iPhone 14 series weren't huge compared to the iPhone 13, it is claimed that the iPhone 15 will enjoy a considerable power boost.

The iPhone 15 will grow from the 3,279mAh unit in the iPhone 14 to a 3,877mAh version, the report alleges. For the iPhone 15 Plus, the battery will increase from 4,325mAh to 4,912mAh.

On the Pro model side, the report alleges the iPhone 15 Pro will get a 3,650mAh battery versus 3,200mAh in the iPhone 14 Pro. Lastly, the iPhone 15 Pro Max will apparently use a 4,852mAh battery instead of a 4,323mAh variant.

Get ready for a USB-C port and other changes.

In it, we see a larger-than-usual opening on the bottom edge. This is apparently for the USB-C port that will replace Lightning in the iPhone 15 series.
The case makes room for the hefty camera hump that will be included in the upcoming iOS device.

It also has openings on the left edge for the solid-state capacitive mute and volume buttons that rumors said would be a signature feature of the two iPhone 15 Pro models. However, more recent reports indicate that technical problems forced Apple to shelve these in favor of traditional buttons.
