It's great to see this entry level ebike kit and how good it is. It's exiting to imagine where the technology will go in the future on ebike conversions if this is anything to go by.

I was really fancying getting one of these kits until I saw the price they are now £999!! Which is way more than the price of £350 mentioned in the video

easily get this past the UCI inspectors by wearing socks that are slightly too long. they'll spend so much time measuring them you'll sneak this unobtrusive kit right by them no

You say it depends on cadence to work - so does this mean that it stops working at very slow cadences? Just when you need it most going up hills?

Thanks for sharing, simplicity is great. What about the weight of the battery pack? No issues with steering?

The UK price is actually £799 for the 35km for the new version

That first battery pack in the workshop looked larger and had a fairly complex LCD display but the later battery pack looked smaller with more basic LED indicators. The hub motor looks very small and I'm sure has planetary gears/cogs in order to improve torque but when used with a 700c wheel the torque reduces dramatically because of the larger circumference. A combination of low capacity battery and small hub motor on a large wheel means this probably won't assist the rider that much. Also the plastic/nylon gearing in such hub motors will probably get a harder life in a such a large wheel.

What's the total weight of kit when added to a bike including front wheel?

You said enough to peak my interest, but oddly no info on range, battery capacity, charging time, weight of battery pack, or how that weight on front handlebars affected handling.
Also more info on what you meant by “sporadic delivery”, and any other things you would like to be improved would have been good.

15 mph? UK laws suck! In the USA I’m pretty sure they sell electric bikes that can do 35-40 mph at max voltage.

Apparently, hub drive isn't very good at all, you need a mid drive system, for many reasons, the main one being the fact that it utilizes the rear wheel gears.

322 GBP is now increased to 450 for only 35km version

The speed limit means the maximum assist it can give meaning, I can maintain 30kph without assist, so I can use extra 15 to 30 kph from the kit totalling to 45-60kph maximum speed?

Does the battery get charged when I am pedalling but not using motor assist... i.e, when the battery is not being used to assist?

With the propellant in front and no brakes that sounds scary.

It doesn't look very waterproof to me. What's to stop the fine English rain from seeping into those lovely orange connectors? Don't get me wrong I actually want this very kit but yeah it would have to be bomb proof.
