Richard Bandler: Nested Loops

@dhinge The point is not to demonstrate his ability to perform algebra or any other kind of calculation. The purpose is to overload the ability of the listener to process everything consciouisly. This is done with nested loops and providing information, such as maths problems, which cannot be worked out with the information provided. The listener is lead into beginning to work out the problem because we associate witht the speaker's experience. This is the technique.

Its about to stop conscious processing and get people to just learn and absorb. The metaphor about the calculation is talking about trust in the unconscious processes. Richard wants his audience to just go inside and listen on the outside as this is the state you are in when you stop your inner dialogue and just learn, too. Enjoy the metaphor as Richard is speaking to your unconscious mindand accept that he does'nt intend you to have understood the attitudes/states/skills he delivers consciously

I'm not surprised that he doesn't like to "show his work" because, to quote him "there isn't any". There's no work put into NLP, it's just a guess, a feeling, and that feeling is "-1"

Does the fact that Dr Bandler is so fat and unhealthy looking through anybody else off in the back of your mind a bit? Especially when he starts to go on about dieting and getting fat? He looks like penguin from Batman returns in 1992.
